Denon 3805 sound vs Yamaha 2400 sound (1 Viewer)

Just out of curiousity tom, what kind of Paradigm's do you have?

I can't compare with Yamaha 2400 but I can tell you that my 3805 sounds much better than my previous 3802 and 3803.

I have Paradigm Monitor 7 v.1 mains, cc-370(?) v.2 center, and mini monitor v.2 surrounds. Before I had the 3805, I figured I needed to upgrade the speakers to get the sound I wanted, but the Denon fixed that.

Bob -

Its not that I really want a louder surround presence in PLII/Neo:6 mode, its just an observation that (after calibration) the Yamaha had louder surrounds at the same volume level and same TV shows.

Tom,

I had the exact opposite with regards to the rear surrounds, especially my center rear. I have alot more sound coming from them than my old 2400. I have all speakers set at a +5 and I feel my surrounds are much more present with the 3805.
