I’ve had a weird issue pop up and have been posting around trying to see what people think. My main setup was built around my HDCRT originally. About six months ago I found a plasma to play with and so I've had to have my Panasonic ST60 on a stand in front of my CRT stand and receiver. Suddenly one day the voice coil diaphragm on my right Klipsch tower went out and I replaced it. Now the same thing has happened to my center. They've been fine for years and I've babied them.

Is there something plasma panel related that can cause speakers to blow their tweeters out? I have heard a slight very faint frequency noise when watching with headphones plugged into my receiver and the plasma is on but nothing is playing. (onkyo txnr626, Senn hd380pros)

Before this nothing has been a problem whatsoever. I've had my Klipsches for almost 10 years and the Klipsch towers for at least 3-4.
I’ve now replaced the left and center diaphragms and gone back to my hdcrt and had no issues. The only change in the past year was to add in the plasma for some viewing. If I add it back in I will definitely redo everything to give much more space between the TV itself and all equipment.

That’s what I had thought. It was simply weird for it to happen all at once but adding the plasma in was the only change I had made.

Blown tweeters usually indicate you're (over)driving the amp/receiver into clipping.
