There's a great portion of audio commentary in Thunderball about the scene with Bond and Domino on the beach and he breaks the news to her that her brother is dead. That speaks to Richard's comment above.

Spyglass Entertainment is close to making a deal with MGM's debt holders that may rescue MGM and move Bond 23 and The Hobbit into production, the L.A. Times reports:

If the deal is closed soon, EON still must deal with an unfinished script, writers who are in conflict with the producers, and Daniel Craig's schedule. He says he is eager to do Bond 23, but he has signed on for other films that will keep him busy for another year.
