Any Photoshop (elements) experts? (1 Viewer)

Been messing around with Photoshop Elements and one aspect is driving me crazy.

How do you master the magnetic lasso tool? Better yet, how do you correct a lasso that has gone a bit astray?

After much practice, I'm starting to think it's not possible to get an accurate, tight rope around an image.

Adjusting the tolerance can help a lot, you can use the backspace key to take off the last point.
