Also, what's really impressive, even amazing, is how much they sounded like the voices Gosden and Correll gave the characters on the radio. I think Tim Moore was much older than they intended Kingfish to be -- he was 63 when they started filming -- but his impersonation of the voice and portrayal of the character were so good, his age has to be overlooked.

I saw that on Amazon someone is selling the 2 episodes individually for like $45 an episode.

Last Thursday , I attended a 3D rarities screening in New Jersey , and was able to speak to someone who worked at CBS Television NYC for nine years. Frustratingly he told me that CBS still holds all of the original elements to Amos And Andy in pristine condition , meaning a DVD release would look as good as say Gunsmoke . Those elements are now stored on the West Coast , and are kept in a separate locked room away from the rest of the CBS archive , meaning we will never see their release .
