I kinda miss the twins who got canned early on. We'll probably see them again in the future on tv. They had some marketing potential.

I find it funny that the Fox officials all of a sudden found so called morals with Frenchie's photos.

Tonight on E.T., she mentioned in her interview that the Fox officials knew about her past since Nov.

I think the real reason is because of her size. She had the potential of winning this competition and they didn't want an American Idol of her size.

Plus it makes great tv.

With Haddas, I think she may have seen the results before they were announced. She kept looking at the card without Ryan realizing it and her face gave her away.

Luis, I feel the same way about the Frenchie situation.

Of course I find it odd that any organization nowadays has "problems" with such activity. Back in the 80s with the Miss America/Vanessa Williams thing, it reflected society's views. Now that everything is much "looser", I don't see why it's a big deal.

Ah well, they would've rigged the phone-in results anyhow.

About the Kimberly Locke 'tude, according to Simon Cowell on Star 98.7 in Los Angeles, during last week Thursday's interview on the Ryan Seacrest timeframe, he was impressed with Kimberly's outburst because everytime he saw Kimberly, she was this dorky girl, who wore glasses and was very quiet and didn't speak much. For her to outburst like that, showed that Kimberly actually had more personality than the quiet type that she was portraying during her auditions to the semi-finals. That is why Simon wanted her to break free of that restraint and criticized her for it.

I'll also miss Frenchie. She would've lasted a very long time in American Idol finale competition. Oh well, I can't stand FOX's 'tude when they air stuff like Temptation Island and some of their members have done porn. Hmm, idiot station.

> Did Clay sing the Mariah Carey version of "Open Arms?"

Did anyone else notice Randy claim he used to be in Journey? Huh?

Maybe, but wasn't the problem that she was on a kiddie-porn-related site?

It's too bad they didn't check it out further upfront.

Am I the only one who doesn't care if the people are large or unattractive-looking, as long as they can sing?

While I think Fox is hypocritical to a point, I think they were dead on here. An American Idol that posed nude may be bad enough, but to make it worse, she was on a site that tried to make her out to be a minor. Pedophilia is wrong in any way shape or form, and I would not have wanted an Idol who used her body to feed the sick fantasies of pedophiles. As to why Fox waited so long to dismiss her, they could not do it before the show aired that named the 32 finalists so as not to give away anything, maybe not the best decision, but it's what they chose.

Chris: Yes Randy was in Journey, not the original group though, and he was only in there for 2 years or so.

And it was Simon and 19 Records that was concerned with the Idol "look" not Fox, so I don't believe that Frenchie's size had anything to do with the decision. If it did, they would have gotten rid of Kimberly Locke too since many consider her a "big girl".

What album did Randy record with Journey?

I kept thinking the only Afro-American was Clarence from Springsteen's E Street Band who toured with Journey.

Oh shit! Now I know why I had Randy confused with Clarence, it's the hair, bay-bee!

And finally my confusing him with the brother in the Jackson 5 has been settled (that's a different Randy Jackson).

Thanks for the link.

Doubt it. They say they knew ahead of time but I bet they let her audition anyways thinking if she didn't make it in then they wouldn't have to cause a problem and it would have been done with. But since she did make it in they had to kick her out. I bet they took a gamble and it didn't work out for Fox.

So far the two strongest contenders for the wild cars would be Kimberly (blonde) and Clay (Fido Dido). It should be interesting who are the top performers tonight.

I don't think Fox has a problem with those who strip, but when it's for a pedophilia site and that Frenchie not only stripped, but did masturbation, I think that's what made Fox kick Frenchie off.

Anyway, tonight's the night for the 3rd group of 8, and from the previews, it looks like Simon has a lot of glowing remarks for the singers tonight. :)

My favorite, "Hercules," will sing tonight. I'm sure he'll make it to the next round.

Oh boy, a lackluster group.

Here's my ranking of the contestants (but even the top one is bringing up the rear IMHO):

1. Vanessa - good voice, sassy
2. Jordan - liked this voice, did not connect with audience
3. George - good performance, but too old school
4. Samantha - good voice, okay song choice.
5. Equoia - big presence, but not my cup of tea.
6. Ricky - not a good song choice, too much falsetto for me.
7. Kimberly - amateurish voice in spots
8. Louis - blah

I think America will push across Vanessa and either Ricky/Equoia.

I wish they'd lose the stupid hand motions. If you have to "act" your song, obviously your voice isn't strong enough.

Patrick, I have to agree with your comments and ranking. A very blah group, indeed.

Vanessa is the only one I feel at all inclined to vote for. And even then, I don't really think she's "American Idol" material and will probably not last long in the final 10.

I think Simon's right about the potential of the Wildcard group. There were people that didn't make it from the last 2 groups that were much better than anyone we saw tonight.

It's a round like this where I hate that they have to push 2 into the top 10 because I think only one needs to go on from this group.

Not only is the Wildcard group going to be better than Round 3, but they will be really really hungry because I think most of them know they can sing, and were just edged out of the voting for their particular group.

As much as I thought the "Hercules" bit was funny at first, Ricky needs to get off that schtick and concentrate on not singing all over the map. Also, he ain't got no presence when he sings, he's too internalized, with smallish eyes that don't really connect with the audience either.

I cringe whenever Simon gives out his "so what" reviews.

You could tell Randy was hoping Equoia would hit a home run, but her voice just wasn't able to hit the notes high enough, but she had good presence, but left Randy disappointed.

In case y'all didn't know, many song choices by the contestants are not cleared by whoever holds the rights to the song (I guess they just don't want to hear their songs butchered on TV), so many times they are not singing what they wanted to sing, or are as comfortable singing.
