Unclear. That same 4K scan was the basis of Arrow's Blu-ray, Shout! Factory's Blu-ray, and this UHD, but I couldn't find anything regarding who supervised the HDR grade. I'm assuming that Friedkin signed off on it, and having to wait for him may be why it took Kino so long to get the disc to market. That's just a guess, though.Ok, thanks. Even if Friedkin did sign off on it, we're still talking about something that's many, many miles removed from his grading on the original The French Connection Blu-ray. Again, it's worth noting, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker for anyone. Still a great disc.
