Did everyone save their pennies?! :) I just placed my largest new-release only order ever (12 titles) with DVDEmpire. With the five dollar off coupon (code #449868) and free shipping, my order came to just a hair over $200.00. That's not bad since most of these are "A-list" titles with tons of extra features. I'm definitely taking the day off on Monday! :)
Here's what I'm getting, what did you all pick up?
Amadeus: Director's Cut
Beatles, The: Hard Day's Night
Boomerang
Grease (Widescreen)
Grifters, The
Heavenly Creatures
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest: 2-Disc Special Edition
Singin' In The Rain: 50th Anniversary Edition
Swingers: Collector's Series
Trading Places
True Romance: Unrated Director's Cut
Unforgiven: 10th Anniversary Edition

I've got 12 titles on my list also. We match on 9 titles. In place of Boomerang, The Grifters, and Trading Places, I've got Spellbound (Criterion), Mary Tyler Moore: Season 1, and Enigma.
In addition Peter Gabriel's long-awaited new CD hits stores Tuesday. Definitely an expensive day. I'm hoping Best Buy will have some good deals on some of this stuff!!

I have 14 titles on my "to buy" list for next week, although I'm positive I won't be buying all of them next week. They are:

Amadaeus
German Horror Classics (Caligari, Nosferatu, Golem, Waxworks--waiting on reviews on these before I decide)
Grease
Major League
Man Bites Dog
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Singin' in the Rain
Spellbound
Trading Places
True Romance

Grease and SITR are the only two I'm sure I'll buy next week.

Right now, I only have "A Hard Day's Night" and "Unforgiven" on order, but I am being tempted by the siren song of "Cuckoo's Nest," "Amadeus" and "Singing in the Rain."

Boomerang is coming on Tuesday? Cool! That's been on my top five most wanted DVDs list since I got my first player in '98.

Singin' In The Rain: SE
Amadeus: Director's Cut
A Hard Day's Night: SE

for sure.

I might get One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest: SE, The Civil War, Monsters Inc. as well.

I'm definately going to get Somewhere In Dreamland: Special Edition (restored collection of Fleischer Studio shorts)..despite it being out for some time.

I'll also look for deals on Criterions like My Man Godfrey, The Passion of Joan of Arc, and The Life and Death Of Colonel Blimp.

Sept. 24 is definitely a new record, although there have been a couple of dates in the past that have also been top-heavy.

Let's see...

Gene Kelly Collection
Kino German Horror Movie Box Set
Secret Agent 4 and 5
Trading Places
Heavenly Creatures
Major League
The Grifters
A Hard Day's Night
Amadeus
Spellbound
Under the Roofs of Paris

There were several more I wanted to order, but at some point I just had to start telling myself no.

Believe it or not, none of the above titles interest me...

I'm still saving the pennies for:

Beauty and the Beast
E.T. Ultimate Edition
Spider-Man
Star Wars Episode II
Back to the Future Trilogy
Jason Goes To Hell
Jason X
Halloween 8
