OK, what are my options for a 5-channel amp in the $1000 range?

My JBL's (HT4V and HT4H) are horn loaded, but not very sensitive, and they want a lot of current, I assume.

What sort of amps should I be looking at?

I will NOT be sending bass to the speakers (5.25" drivers), but they still want a lot of current.

Can someone just drop some companies I should look at?

My short list:

Rotel (RMB-1075)
NAD
Adcom (GFA-7605)
ATI (a little too $$$ I think)
Outlaw (7100)
Parasound (HCA-1205A)
B&K (AV 125.5)

Amps are one thing I often buy used. Even units 1 or 2 years old often sell for 50 to 60% of their original MSRP. This opens doors at $1000 to bigger names or higher power...

P.S. Just saw everything from a Cinenova Grande 3 (3 X 300!!!) to an Arcam amp in your price range @ Audiogon...

You can pick up a used Rotel RB-985 THX 5-channel amp for $450 - 500. I love mine. There are several review at audioreview.com

Instead of getting a 7-channel amp, I just added a Harmon Kardon PA2000 for the rear channels to my setup for 7.1.
