Budd Boetticher directed some interesting westerns.
His 1953, Wings of the Hawk, filmed in 3-D, was not one of them.
What does work, however, is the 3-D, which has been nicely handled, albeit slightly less dark than a bat's groin at midnight in projection, when viewed through the requisite...
Tommy Wiseau's The Room has become a famous "so bad it's good" fan favorite since its release in 2003. It's a strange mess of a film in many ways. One of the odd things that happened behind the scenes: it was shot simultaneously on 35mm film and digital video on a side by side camera mount...
Here's an article about it: https://www.indiewire.com/2019/09/fandangonow-oculus-3d-movies-vr-go-quest-1202176602/
FandangoNOW is a streaming service region-locked to USA, so can't offer my thoughts on their 3D selection nor encode quality. Might peek at it with a VPN sometime...
Anyway, if...
Greetings All,
I recently picked up an Oculus Quest and have found incredible value in this wireless HMD (Head-Mounted Display) as a 3D virtual cinema.
Having ripped a couple Blu-Ray's, the free SkyBox app coupled with its AirScreen desktop program allows to wirelessly stream local media to...
Saw this on the Amazon Germany web site and, because I thoroughly enjoy the movie, thought I'd chance picking up this new 3-D release. I am not completely bummed by it, but it sure ain't THE WIZARD OF OZ.

"The BIG 3-D Attraction That's Worth Waiting For!"
It's not often that you have an opportunity to interview a living legend AND solve a mystery which has lingered in the technological history of motion pictures for more than half a century. Hillary Hess accomplishes both in her wonderfully...
It is one of the most highly-requested Golden Age 3-D titles. You will be amazed with our next restoration.

William Cameron Menzies' THE MAZE is coming soon to 3-D Blu-ray from our good friends at Kino Lorber Studio Classics!
Whatever happened to 3-D without glasses? It was supposed to be the next big thing about 5 years ago. I saw it demonstrated many years ago but the screen size was only half the size of a mobile.
In August 2014, we found this lost 3-D short buried deep in the vaults of the British Film Institute.
Directed by Lewis Gilbert (as Byron Gill) and photographed by A.E. Jeakins in March 1953, it sat on the shelf until the end of 1954 when it was finally released flat.
This delightful 27 minute...
There are currently 13 3-D from the 1950s that have been restored and are in DCP format. We know there's a few more at least coming from Paramount and possibly Universal. Give it a few more years and there may be enough of these to do World 3-D Film Expo 4!
If you want to see this film on 3-D Blu-Ray, make sure to contact Russell Cowe at Panamint and ask them to consider licensing this film for distribution. The 3-D Film Archive can do scanning and restoration as soon as a 3rd party is willing to release it...
