so i took the speaker apart, and found out that 2 plastic housing that front cover screws into are cracked, screw wouldnt screw tight, i could just spin it forever, like if the thread was gone, which is probably what happened. so i am assuming that front cover was causing rattle. i repaired...
i havent inspected the speaker yet, did check for loose cables but they are good. will check what you suggesting today and post outcome. it is definitive tech pro cinema 1000 speaker. 10 months old. dont use it too often, maybe twice a week for a movie length, not cranking it much either.
one of my front speakers is producing rattling sound at certain low frequency. i know it comes from speaker as i switched front speakers and now it comes from other direction. any idea what might be wrong? thanks
so i narrowed it down to these two used winISD to get enclosure size. i was leaning towards hf driver after reading reviews on PE site, but for some reason i am getting way bigger suggested enclosure size than for titanic. am i doing this right? in reviews for hf several people are mentioning...
i have older laptop that i have connected to my lcd through vga cable and 3.5 mm stereo cable. i want to use it for games and dvd playback. i am not sure how to handle sound. does 3.5mm stereo cable transfer 5.1 sound? i am setting up my first ht. i will have receiver connected to tv using...
also some movies that i try to play from usb through my tv and my tv tells me that audio codec is not supported. will return channel or optical cable pass the audio to receiver and it would be handled there? i think it is dts audio that my tv cant play.
as i understand only hdmi 1.4 support audio return channel. not 1.3. does my 1 year old samsung tv support hdmi 1.4 though? i want to get hd antena, connect to my tv and than take advantage of return channel and run it to receiver. will it work?
what about denon avr 1611. i found open box for $100 less than its original price. how does it compare to onkyos 608/508? thanks in fact i dont really need 7.1 as i am going to run 5.1 setup and not planing to add. is denon avr 391 pretty much the same as avr 1611, just 5.1 instead of 7.1?
i was pretty much set with onkyo txsr608, but more and more i think about it i would rather spend 100$ more on sub and get receiver in $250 range +/-. maybe onkyo 508. not quite sure, i dont understand these stuff that much . i am looking for 7.1, with min 4 hdmi ports, and will mostly use it...
rob, so are you suggesting i go with lava sub? i checked their website and see there is 12" version for $40 more than my limit. i could probably pony up some $$ to get 12" one. my question is though what can i expect from it comparing to 10" one. i will not definatlelly play it extreme loud...
thanks rob, here is link to def tech sub spec. i am not that educated about all the numbers to look for. i had read to check for low frequency first. why do you think so about lava sub? i see the low for this sub is 37hz. what else does affect its performance? just wandering.
i currently purchased following speakers for my home theater definitive tech pro1000 center pro1000 front speakers pro800 rear speakers onkyo608 7.2 receiver i need sub. there is one from def tech that is serie to the speakers pro sub 800...
dont tell my wife, but i am going to get dt pro cinema 1000 (2 fronts and center), 800 sides, and possibly pb10 nsd sub. and onkyo 508 as suggested. still think the sub is pricey, is there something cheaper i could use instead? thanks
ok, thanks do you think that it will be sufficient for 14 x 28 room. half of the room is living room half is dining but it is all open as one big space. seating for tv is in the middle. also if i buy later on this speakers for the front and use ones in the set as my rear and side, will it...
my wife already thinks the budget for ht is outrageous, so i will not by able to pony up any more $$. with my onkyo selection, what are my options of wall and ceiling attachment of satellites? i was thinking spraying the housing of 4 satellite speakers white. it might reduce my chances of...
i was pretty much set for onkyo HT-S9100THX. but now that i think more about it i think i need something else. i will need to mount rear and side satellites on the wall. ones that come with onkyo set are pretty big. i would prefer something more subtle at least for the satellites, with white...
thanks, so you guys thing the two wires already in place are in good position? i was thinking they are little too high but maybe not. for rear speakers, i am thinking just run cables above those dropped soffits (there is a 4" gap between them and actual ceiling). there is no attic. than i would...
