Thanks again. I tried that. When it erases is it erasing just the commands associated with the key? I thought it would actually erase the word that the key corresponds to also. The only way I have been able to erase the word is go into edit and just space the word out using the toggle button.
That did it!! Thanks. I was doing everything but pressing the page button. One more question, I am also trying to delete some commands. I am pressing the erase button then the fav button then the "all" button and or the device erase button and the commands are still there. What am I doing wrong...
Thanks, but I have the manual and have looked at it alot but can't find how to add a device. I can see where to edit a command for a device but not how edit/add a device. Am I missing something?
I just got a used MX-500 and it is missing some of the devices on the main page like the DVD and CD player. How do I add back the devices that are missing? I have read where it is not possible to bring the remote back to the original default so I am trying to manually type in everything that it...
I have a small closet that I want to put my equipment in and I need a rack that I can wheel in and out. Does anyone know where I can get one? Would something like a bread rack work? Any other ideas?
Thanks Lev, I get the idea. I just need to take that step and "crossover". Now I have to decide what to get when the time comes. Too many choices, LCD, DLP, Plasma etc.
Was just looking at Walmart for a Harry Potter DVD for my daughters birthday and noticed that the full screen version was $6 more that the wide screen version. I suppose that is the direction that DVD's are going now? Pretty soon we will have no choice but wide screen? By the way, I...
Thanks for the history John. I do plan on getting a widescreen someday but with my luck soon as I get one that is 16:9 they will come out with another format and I will be watching black bars of another kind.
"How come we don't complain about black bars in the theaters .." Maybe I am blind but I don't notice black bars at the theater. However, I was at a hi-fi store the other day and was watching a $6000 HDTV and it had bars in it!! If I am gonna pay that much money for a set I want to see...
Chris, Thanks for the site. You are right, I have been around the forum for a while but I have been concentrating mostly on the audio end. Now I am wanting to look at the video side of HT. One question, if some of the movies are now being produced in 2.35:1 will HDTV be going to this format...
My DVD player has zoom which I haven't tried but I would think with a 16:9 movie on a 4:3 screen it would just be a close up with the big black bars. Hate those bars.
I have a rear projection TV with 4:3 and I when I get movies I always get the full screen versions, but it seems that the trend is going toward 16:9 and I know eventually I will have to bit the bullet and go HDTV. Also, when I borrow movies most of them are 16:9 which kinda ruins the movie...
I tried doing a search before I posted but didn't find anything under the topic. I also tried searching under Ilkka and found some stuff but nothing on plugging a PB-10.
I understand that plugging a couple ports on the bigger SVS's make a difference but what about plugging all ports or in my case with the PB-10 plugging the only port. Will it hurt anything? Can I expect it to sound "tighter" like the sealed subs are supposed to sound? If it is OK to do, what...
I have read a couple of threads where a certain speaker brand tries to impress the listener by playing a song with "Q" sound. What is this and what songs are recorded that way?
Thanks for the info. I think maybe a portable screen is the way to go and yeh I know I probably should have chosen a different title but I have been married for 22 years and plan to keep it that way.
I can't do the curtain thing to hide the screen because there is furniture or or a fireplace or an entertainment center on every wall. I thought I read somewhere about someone who used a pop up screen? What is that?
Here is the deal. My wife has been so understanding of my audio "toys". I have full size speakers and and a big sub which she has graciously let me have in our family room with no complaints. I have been able to "blend" them in with the existing decor which makes her and I both happy. Now I want...
Your review was really realistic to a bunch of us including me. I could easily see myself in that situation. Now since you praised an SVS in a review like this, your review will likely be mentioned in othre comaparisons and they'll likely just call you another fanboy. Sad but true. They can...
Remember, this was a HIGHLY technical test so even the scoring is confusing. SVS 11 points total from the 1's (or 11-1's), 6 points total from the 2's (or 3-2's)and 12 points total from the 3's (or 4-3's) 11+6+12 = 29 VMPS 6-1's, 5-2's(10), 7-3's(21) grand total 37 Kenwood 3-1's...
As a preface to my test I would like say how much I admire and appreciate the work that some of the HTF members do to test subwoofers so that the rest of us can make educated decisions on what we should purchase. I realize that their work requires many hours of charting, listening, testing, and...
I have an amp for my mains that does not have the 12v trigger. I would like for it to come on when I turn on my receiver, is there something I can buy that will do this? If so, where can I get it?
