Any 27" TV's with 16:9 mode other than SONY?

I am looking to buy a 27" TV with 16:9 mode for my parents. Besides the SONY models that have this feature are there any other brands/models (a bit cheaper than SONY) that would be suggested by this fine, well informed forum? Thanks in advance... Mitch

KV-32HS510 - Just got it and It's AWESOME

Jeremy, FYI - My 32HS510 does indeed have the 16:9 enhanced mode which can be set to "on" or "Auto". I suspect that the 36HS510 would also have that feature. Thanks.

KV-32HS510 - Just got it and It's AWESOME

Hi all, Sorry for the late reply but I have been busy at work and at watch/tweaking the new TV. As far as inputs are concerned, go to this page at Crutchfield.com - http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...S500&display=L I am not sure of any added or upgraded features on the HS510 as of...

KV-32HS510 - Just got it and It's AWESOME

Joshua, Yes, it does do 3:2 pulldown. Does that really mean that I do not need a Pro Scan DVD player? Please join this thread with your opinions and/or, more importantly, the facts. I'd like to know. Thanks...

KV-32HS510 - Just got it and It's AWESOME

Hi all - The Good Guys just got the new SONY models in and I was able to pick up the 32HS510 for $1,199 after wheeling and dealing on a price match with goodgys.com. Picked it up yesterday, installed and configured it and it is truly awesome. I did the standard adjustments for the Red Push...

Taking the plunge - Buying the Toshiba 32HF72 today - any thoughts?

Hello all, I have researched, I have visited stores and viewed the tubes. The front runners in my size and price range ended up being the Toshiba 32HF72 and the SONY KV-32HS500. I can't go any bigger due to my entertainment center. I only watch DirecTV (with an elliptical dish) and DVD's...

KV-32HS500, Opinions Requested RE: DRC - Thanks

So... Will the DirecTV digital signal work well with the 32HS500? I assume it should be fine unless the TiVo messes it up. Anyone?

KV-32HS500, Opinions Requested RE: DRC - Thanks

Hi all, I know that this DRC issue has been debated quite a bit in this forum, however, I have a simple (I think) question and I would greatly appreciate your opinions. I am thinking of purchasing the 32HS500 to replace my 32FS13. I know that the 32HV600 allows you to adjust the DRC and...

Advice Needed - Can the horizontal bow on my WEGA be corrected via the service menu?

A good example of this bowing is while watching the CNN ticker the words coming from right to left will bow up to a high point in the middle and then begin downwards toward the left side of the screen. Basically the horizontal line is not straight. Between an 1/8th and a 1/4 inch off of...

Advice Needed - Can the horizontal bow on my WEGA be corrected via the service menu?

Hi, This horizontal bowing problem (funhouse effect - whatever) is driving me crazy. Please post any solution(s), if they exist. I have played around in the service menu, but I can not seem to find anything to help. The set is a KV-32FS13. Thanks to all!

Image off center - Any thoughts???

Jack, I am certain that it is not the TV since when I access the service mode menu and adjust the HPOS (to the right) to get the image centered it works for the dish programming (Video 1 input), but when I watch a DVD (Video 4 input) the image is then too far to the right. It did this with...
