    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

Maybe if enough people started canceling their Prime memberships, Amazon would look into why that’s happening, and learn that people are canceling in droves because they are dissatisfied with the reduction in quality of customer service and continual problems with package delivery. Then, they...

    A Few Words About A few words about...™ Hostiles -- in 4k UHD Blu-ray

Wow, this is out already? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised these days that the turnaround time between theatrical and home release is so brief, but I just saw this wonderful film in January in the theater and loved it. Indeed, highly recommended.

Blade Runner 2 gets a green light

Please don't let the title be "Blade Runner 2: Do Androids Dream of Electric Boogaloo?".....

    Shane Blu-ray... in 1:66?

Oh good, so it's going to be 1.37:1 after all. While I'd like the both-aspect-ratios option best, if one is going to go with only one aspect ratio, it should be the intended one (which, according to all sources, would be 1.37:1 Academy).

Will Warner ever release Oliver Stones HEAVEN AND EARTH on blu?

I also enjoyed it quite a bit. I would think that at some point it will come out on Blu-Ray - the cinematography alone is worth it.

Burn Notice Season 7 the final season

Hope I can catch this tonight (I'm not in control of the TV at this time), but I've enjoyed the last several seasons. A bit sad that this is the last one, but I think I can understand why. It's been a great run. I don't tune into too many TV shows these days, but this one was an exception that...

Roger Ebert lays out why Movie (theaters) suck

That's actually a bit of an exaggeration (although I do see your point, and it's valid); a quick search of Yelp for the DC area shows that there are not only FYE and Sam Goody stores but also plenty of non-chains involved in the selling of pre-recorded music & movies...

    Paramount's "The Buccaneer" (1958) on Blu-Ray/DVD February 28, 2012!

Well, she wasn't on the original poster artwork either, and that's what this release's artwork is based upon.

    Paramount's "The Buccaneer" (1958) on Blu-Ray/DVD February 28, 2012!

I just learned this today, and although I'm sure it's been mentioned elsewhere here, I wanted to let everyone who may not have heard that the 1958 remake of Cecil B. Demille's 1938 classic The Buccaneer, directed by Anthony Quinn, is finally coming to Blu-Ray & DVD on 2/28/12...

Roger Ebert lays out why Movie (theaters) suck

I would qualify this. Movie theaters don't suck; the modern movie theater experience is what sucks. If movie theaters always sucked, I never would have loved going to the movies as a kid. What sucks is what they've done to the moviegoing experience in the last 20 -30 years - i.e., jack up the...

Who are your Favorite Character Actors?

To me, a character actor is an actor who shows up in a number of films and tends to work pretty regularly, but whose name is not particularly well-known to the public. What A Character! Some of my favorite character actors include S.Z. "Cuddles" Sakall, Sig Ruman, Dennis Burkley, Regis...
