Maybe if enough people started canceling their Prime memberships, Amazon would look into why that’s happening, and learn that people are canceling in droves because they are dissatisfied with the reduction in quality of customer service and continual problems with package delivery. Then, they...
Wow, this is out already? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised these days that the turnaround time between theatrical and home release is so brief, but I just saw this wonderful film in January in the theater and loved it.
Indeed, highly recommended.
Oh good, so it's going to be 1.37:1 after all. While I'd like the both-aspect-ratios option best, if one is going to go with only one aspect ratio, it should be the intended one (which, according to all sources, would be 1.37:1 Academy).
Hope I can catch this tonight (I'm not in control of the TV at this time), but I've enjoyed the last several seasons. A bit sad that this is the last one, but I think I can understand why. It's been a great run. I don't tune into too many TV shows these days, but this one was an exception that...
That's actually a bit of an exaggeration (although I do see your point, and it's valid); a quick search of Yelp for the DC area shows that there are not only FYE and Sam Goody stores but also plenty of non-chains involved in the selling of pre-recorded music & movies...
I just learned this today, and although I'm sure it's been mentioned elsewhere here, I wanted to let everyone who may not have heard that the 1958 remake of Cecil B. Demille's 1938 classic The Buccaneer, directed by Anthony Quinn, is finally coming to Blu-Ray & DVD on 2/28/12...
I would qualify this. Movie theaters don't suck; the modern movie theater experience is what sucks. If movie theaters always sucked, I never would have loved going to the movies as a kid. What sucks is what they've done to the moviegoing experience in the last 20 -30 years - i.e., jack up the...
I am eagerly awaiting this. It has already been released in selected theaters on the coasts and will open in other cities in the weeks to come. http://www.eventherainmovie.com http://www.tambienlalluvia.com/en/ Tambien La Lluvia is Spain's official submission for...
To me, a character actor is an actor who shows up in a number of films and tends to work pretty regularly, but whose name is not particularly well-known to the public. What A Character! Some of my favorite character actors include S.Z. "Cuddles" Sakall, Sig Ruman, Dennis Burkley, Regis...
I was beginning to wonder what had happened to dear Mr. Harris. It's been so long since I'd seen one of his columns. The outsourcing of tech support is an all-too-common occurrence throughout corporate America, and it's usually users who are on the short end of that stick. Eventually the...
I really enjoyed this in the theater, and have been looking forward to seeing it again on DVD. I'll probably even get both versions, simply because I liked the theatrical cut but I'm also interested in the director's cut. It wouldn't be the first time I double-dipped on a title.
I saw this last night at a midnight showing. I was really looking forward to it and was not disappointed at all. I look forward to seeing it again and will definitely be getting the DVD when it comes out.
In addition to what I thought was a great story and a superb cast, I was very impressed...
I'd like to chime in with my support for an anamorphic transfer of Fearless. I own the current pan-&-scan DVD, despite its poor quality, and would jump at the chance to get director-approved re-release. It's an outstanding film that deserves much better than it's been accorded so far.
 Oh wait..... :frowning: I can't see all these movies there...... Maybe just one or two.... :frowning: Been wanting to go there for a couple years now, though.....

I like some of these suggestions and I agree that the onus is largely upon theater owners to increase moviegoing attendance, not the studios (granted, independent theater owners have a bit more leeway than the chains might, but I doubt that the chain...
This situation applies even to brand new films. The upcoming release of David LaChapelle's documentary film Rize, which came out earlier this year, will be released in 1.33:1, and since it's a modern film, many will no doubt be under the impression that its OAR was 1.85:1. Well, I saw the film...
The real best part is at the very end after the credits. Charlie Sheen in full clown makeup imitating Robert Duvall's "Smells like Victory" monologue from Apocalypse Now. Serious must-buy.
That would be Richard Cook, President of Walt Disney Studios (which runs Buena Vista Home Entertainment), former Disneyland monorail pilot, Disney Channel pioneer, former President of Buena Vista Pictures Distribution and champion of the restoration of Hollywood's El Capitan Theater (which...
Barry_B_B -- There is only ONE theater where you should even consider seeing Episode III in your area, and that's the restored classic Senator Theater in Baltimore, which has hosted all the Star Wars films and is quite popular with Maryland film fans. http://www.senator.com/ Do yourself a big...
These ninnies who think they have the right to personally edit another person's creative work would raise all holy hell if an X-rated version of their beloved Bible were published and made available to the public. If I wanted graphic photos in my Bible, and lots of modern day curse words, oh you...
I'm not sure this had been previously announced, but just by chance I happened across this listing for the 1936 David O. Selznick-produced early 3-Strip Technicolor smash hit The Garden of Allah on Amazon.com - it's getting a DVD re-release in October, this time by MGM Home Video! :D...
*shrug* I've only seen Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones in DLP at the Grauman's Chinese, but I was impressed enough with it to want to see more (no reel change markers, no print degradation, no need for resplicing broken film - what, there's something negative about that?). I...
You know, Amy, I saw this movie when it was in theaters, and frankly I enjoy the darned thing! OK, so it's implausible and all, but what the heck, John Gielgud and Liam Neeson are good in it, and if it hadn't been for this film, I'd have never heard of 1940's The Mortal Storm! So, yeah! I'd like...
Outstanding news! Really looking forward to Stanely Donen's commentary. I've so far only seen snippets of this film. What a delight it will be to see both versions of this classic! Oh, and psst, al (alweho)! The Shaggy Dog(45th Ann.) has been delayed, unfortunately, possibly until 2005.
