Well ive always thought that the one thing i'd change in Scarface would be the music, its just dated really terribly, the score itself is great, its just the 80's synthesisers that sound really terrible.
Does anyone else rate this guy as a composer?
I think that his scores for Back to the Future, Predator and The Flight of the Navigator are brilliant, though his later stuff hasn't really caught my ear in the same way.
Believe it or not, one of the things that influenced my purchase was the musical score.
Trevor Jones' Cliffhanger score is more than a bit similar in my view.
Does anyone know who did what part of the score in this film. I heard that 2 people did it as Mann fell out with Trevor Jones or something.
There are 2 distinct musical sounds, the sort of Irish dance dum, dum dum dum etc, then there is the big grand orchestral piece.
Just thought id say that it seems that Fox have announced a new version of Predator for R2, but not the US, I wonder why that is?
I wonder if the new version will just be the uncut print they should have released in the first place?
I too wish there were more members interested in R2 disks. I think it would be a good idea just to get rid of the regional forum and just post all DVD software threads in one forum.
My course?
Well i'm doing a Degree at Brunel University London (England)
We watched the film Demon Seed as part of my Sci-fi module, also watched Event Horizon, Westworld, T2, and an old creaky 1950-60's film about some ship that lands on a planet and all the crew keep on seeing creatures that...
Any film with the names "Bay" or "Bruckheimer", in the credits I usually give a miss, they are just cheesy gung-ho jingoistic nonsense.
PS no audience in the UK would ever whoop and hollar at any film, its not a pantomime.
Yeah Ed Harris is a great actor without doubt, in fact every film ive seen him in hes been great, Apollo 13, Truman Show, The Rock.
I rate him amongst my best, De Niro, A Hopkins, G Oldman, S Buscemi, A Pacino, K Spacey, Benicio del Toro etc...
I saw this as part of my Film course, and it really scared the crap out of me, and found it quite disturbing. Then again you don't excpect to see films about machines raping women at 8:30 in the morning.
I found the use of imagry and sound very effective and added to the errie smell the film has.
