I currently have a Denon 3802 receiver which I have been happy with for several years. But now that I'm adding various HD components I'm not sure it can handle everything I need it to. I've been researching it on the forum but I'm not 100% clear on all the new HD audio specs so I'm hoping you...
I have a Channel Master 4221 antenna connected to my STB with RG-6 cable. It's a long run from my roof to the basement. I'm considering adding HDTV to another TV in my house. Can I just split the signal and run it to another STB? Or will I most likely need to get an amp? Thanks! Anthony
Just wanted to close the loop on this thread. I bought this isolator from Parts Express http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=180-075 Installed it today and my line is gone. :)
Bart, I finally got to play with it last night. The problem, as in most of these cases, is the cable signal itself. I'm going to try one of the surge protectors I have to see if that supposedly grounds it. If that doesn't work I'll have to move onto one of those cable-isolater thingys. Can...
Thanks for the responses. I'll spend some time this weekend trying to figure which component is causing the problem. I'll post what happens so perhaps it can help someone else.
I've noticed that when I'm viewing something on my pj, depending on the scene, I can see a thin black/grey, horizontal line that moves from the bottom of the screen to the top. Is this related to the the dreaded ground loop in some way?
Elevation is my biggest concern. My house is below road level, on a road that has a pretty good downward slope as it is. I brought the antenna and receiver to the second floor and I got all of the Baltimore stations. Next I'm going to get a long run of RG6 cable from Blue Jeans cable and...
Here's something strange. Just for fun, I hooked up an old set of rabbit ears to the STB and had it search for signals. To my surprise, it picked up 13.1 (Baltimore) and 30.1 (Red Lion!), but nothing else. All of the Baltimore stations are in the same direction and distance. If I got that one...
Phil, thanks for your response. I'm about 20 miles NE from the Baltimore stations. From your description it sounds like I might be able to get both DC and Philly channels as well. I'll need a rotator though. I will most likely attic mount as I have no desire to go up on my roof (fear of...
I'm ready to try and get my OTA STB hooked up. I've read through many of the antenna posts and this is what I think I need. Am I right or wrong? My STB is a Samsung SIR-T351. My projector is a Toshiba TLP-X10, 720p native. Here is my antennaweb info: *yellow -...
