The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–Something a little “off” this week.  Amazon is listing all of this week’s new releases as available on Monday, April 22—rather than the more tradition TUESDAY date of April 23rd.  I have no idea why.  Either way not a big deal.

–Some more region-free releases from Powerhouse Films in the UK.  Pre-order HERE.

–Best Buy, this week, has EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOK PACKAGING with their 4k/UHD copies of Captain America: Civil War.   And, Captain America: Winter Soldier.  The price of each release is $34.99—that’s a $5 premium above the standard 4k releases at BB.

–Best Buy also has EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOK PACKAGING with its 4k/UHD release of Alien.  The price for the fancy package will run you $5 more than the standard release–$22.99.

–Best Buy’s Weekly Ad is available at THIS LINK.

Hey RoundUppers!

I see in my crystal ball a face in the crowd and house with seven gables in my hazy future...

Big week for me. I'll be getting The House Of Seven Gables, The Land Unknown and The Strange Door. At some point, I'll grab A Face In The Crowd.

Near as I can tell, Amazon has started to label all their upcoming books and discs a day early now. I guess their logic is that it can ship on Monday (for a release date arrival) so it's "available" that day?

Thanks Mike! Super excited for the Captain America films in 4K as well as Alien! (PS, Alien was 1979 I believe). Great job as always and my sincere appreciation for all of your hard work!

Just one for me this week, the rest I want will have to wait since my DVD/Blu-ray budget took a bit of a beating with the Kino sale this month.

I had both Captain America's on 4k on preorder, but they haven't moved off of $29.99 each. I'll wait.

Now Alien 4k...that's a ridiculously low price for a classic movie on 4k which apparently looks great. Through a quirk of fate, I had some Amazon credits which applied to this order, meaning my price for Alien is $5.48 (with tax). Tuesday night is not a gym night, so I'm going to introduce the pups to a good Zenomorph (as opposed to Alien: Covenant) when I get home.

Thanks Mike!

Thanks for the prices, Mike! I have the UHD of Alien on pre-order, but that's all for me. I was planning on getting A Face in the Crowd, but I picked up the digital version on sale via iTunes recently instead. I don't think I will upgrade my BDs of the Captain America films to UHD, as I am happy with the current discs.

There's likely to be a Captain America 4K box set coming. One is already announced in Europe.

Disney U.S. hasn't really done box sets of the Marvel films, except for that Amazon-exclusive Phase One box set. (Remember when Amazon was playing nice with Disney? Seems like a long time ago.) I'm not saying you're wrong to suspect a box set, but if it did happen, that would be new behavior on Disney's part.

There was also a Phase II set with the Orb from Guardians of the Galaxy.

There is a Phase III set in the UK.

One can always order it from Amazon UK. About $55 shipped right now.
