The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–Another week of Twilight Time releases.  You know how things work.  Their titles can only be pre-ordered HERE and HERE.

–As comprehensive and detailed as the Target ad is below, this week’s Best Buy ads continues that company’s path to obfuscation and murkiness.

–Best Buy, this week, has absolutley no prices listed for any of the week’s new releases.

–They are advertising an EXCLUSIVE BLU-RAY STEELBOOK version of Venom.  But no price.

–Best Buy also has EXCLUSIVE 4k STEELBOOKS shown of Justice League and Wonder Woman.  But no prices shown.

–And, to top things off, Best Buy shows a bunch of Disney Blu-ray titles (and the 4k of Wreck-It Ralph) “starting at $9.99.”

–Best Buy’s Weekly Ad is available at THIS LINK.

–Target this week has an EXCLUSIVE 24-PAGE GALLERY BOOK with its Blu-ray copies of Venom.  There is a $5 premium for this edition, however, as it is priced at $27.99.

–Target is also advertising an EXCLUSIVE 36-PAGE GALLERY BOOK with BOTH its 4k/UHD and Blu-ray editions of The Predator.  Based on the prices listed in the ad, it’s not clear if it’ll cost more to purchase the exclusive—but I would suspect so.

–Target lists the following recent Blu-ray releases for sale:

$19.99:  Mission Impossible: Fallout, Peppermint

$22.99:  The Nun, Equalizer  2, Smallfoot

–Target has the following movies priced at $15.00 (Recent Movies shown and more):

Blu-ray:  The Darkest Minds, Uncle Drew, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, Show Dogs, BlackkKlansman, Hotel Transylvania 3, The Meg, The Greatest Showman

DVD:  Deadpool 2, Jurassic World

–Target has a 3/$40 deal on 4k/UHD titles.  Titles shown are:  Ocean’s 8, Ready Player One, It, Deadpool, Logan, Rampage, E.T., Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Justice League, Wonder Woman.

–And, there’s a Disney Blu-ray sale at Target this week:

$20.00:  Wreck-It Ralph, Moana, Zootopia, Frozen

$21.00:  Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and Wasp

$23.00:  Solo: A Star Wars Story, Incredibles 2

–And to close out their big media portion of their Sunday flyer this week, Target has a “Box Set Gift Sale:”

$17.99:  Die Hard 4-Film Collection (DVD)

$24.99:  Pitch Perfect Trilogy (Blu-ray)

$27.99:  Greatest Musicals 5-film collection (DVD)

$29.99:  The Godfather Trilogy (Blu-ray)

$39.99:  Mission Impossible: 6-Movie Collection (Blu-ray), Fast & Furious: 8-Movie Collection

$59.99:  The Matrix (4k/UHD)

$64.99:  Harry Potter: 8-Film Collection (Blu-ray)

Hey RoundUppers!

A HUGE week this week. So many big titles coming out. Things really quiet down for the next few weeks.

I know there's gotta be something in this week's listing that Santa can bring for all you good boys and girls! :D

Safe shopping and happy holidays!

Thank you, Mike, for all your work!

The House With A Clock In Its Walls was a delightful surprise to me this year. I was not expecting to even see it, since the trailers looked awful, but I went on recommendation and found a completely delightful film. So I'll be adding it to my collection this week. Amazon adjusted the price of the Blu-ray down to $19.96 since you completed the grid, and I think the other editions may have been adjusted down as well, although I'm not certain since I'm not buying those.

I saw Schindler's List for the first time last weekend during its theatrical re-release. Although it was a beautiful, powerful and moving film in every respect, I can't imagine wanting to go through that again with enough frequency to want to own it.

A Simple Favor was fun in theaters and would be a recommended rental for those interested, but I don't feel the need to own it right now.

Thanks once again Mike for the round-up.

Your dedication to this project year after year is AMAZING...

While I can't say that Schindler's List is my favorite it is either the best film (or a close tie with The Color Purple) Steven Spielberg has made and I have it pre-ordered from Amazon

And while I feel Jeff Bridges should have won the AA for Best Actor for Starman ... I'll have to wait for a sale for the newer collectors edition blu-ray

I would like to get 2001 on 4K but will wait for the price to come down

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike.

I will definitely have at some point all of the first three movies in UHD shown in poster form in your post. Several others will also be added down the road.

Since this thread tends to get a lot of eyes and traffic -- I have a beg/request for some help from someone in the Phoenix area (Phoenix/Mesa/Chandler) or Las Vegas who might be able to purchase and ship a couple a Bluray or 2 that are "in-store only" at a local store. I'll even add a few dollars of gas and time if it helps

Please PM if you think you can help.

(THANKS DP)

Heads up to anyone considering Schindler's List: Universal is releasing the film on all three formats with the same "25th Anniversary" banner. Only the 4K UHD Blu-ray has a remastered picture and upgraded Dolby Atmos audio. The Blu-ray and DVD editions are recycling the previous movie-only discs and changing out a new disc of extras.
