Dusun promotes voice-controlled entertainment systems

As CES fast approaches, we’ll be covering several stories of AV interest as we see them. One of the first out of the gate with announcements is Dusun Electron Ltd. who will be demonstrating an Android TV remote control and gamepad at the 2019 show in Las Vegas. The remote control features Bluetooth BLE (low energy wireless communication) and Google Voice to interact with Android TV-enabled devices such as Smart TVs, Set-top Boxes (STB), and digital media players, to utilize the voice search function from Google to navigate and control content by voice. The Bluetooth-based Android TV gamepad enables users to access multiple gaming applications from Google Play.

Since Google launched Android TV as a replacement for the Google TV platform, it has gained interest from TV and STB OEMs, as well as operators in the pay-TV market. Voice search capabilities from various media services such as Netflix, YouTube, and Android TV has enabled consumer electronics vendors to take advantage of the powerful search engine which Google has created in its Android TV smart entertainment system for the living room.

Dusun’s Android TV remote control was the first commercial Android TV remote control in China. The remote control has been widely adopted by Skyworth for its Android TV products in overseas markets since the first launch with Google at CES 2018.

“Combined with Dusun’s high performance and stability of Android TV remote control with Google Voice, Skyworth Android TV allows consumers to watch and search thousands of movies, shows and games with a premium voice interactive experience,” said Li Zijian, Product Manager of Skyworth.

“Dusun is pleased to collaborate with Skyworth to create the high-quality remote control for Skyworth Android TV,” said Benny Chan, chief executive officer of Dusun. “With our expertise in Bluetooth and voice-controlled technology as well as in creating remote control with optimized industrial design, performance and cost, Dusun is well-positioned to offer the best-of-class remote control for today’s consumer electronics incorporating Android TV system,” added Chan.
