The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

There you go, RoundUppers!

One of the biggest RoundUps of the year! It must be that we are getting close to peak Christmas shopping season.

Not just one of the biggest slates of new releases this week, but also one of the biggest Target ads in a long while! Throw in a few new Twilight Time releases, Amazon exclusives and other things and I'm plum-tuckered-out.

And, you guys know how much I appreciate your support all year round! Thanks for all the "likes" of the OP. You are all very welcome.

And...safe shopping!

Thanks for your work, Mike! I might get Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children this week, which was a cool movie, or I might wait for a price drop. We'll see. That's it.

Hopefully the two Fox titles will arrive for review this week, and I had put in for a couple of others in the list that I don't have in my hands yet plus the Twilight Time titles to be released. Also several titles are on my shopping list.

You're right, Mike, about this being a big release week. Thanks for your efforts on this huge RoundUp!!

Thanks, as always for the update. Stubbornly high price on Suicide Squad (as with Superman v Batman when it came out). I'll hold off. Target or Amazon or somebody will have this at $14.99 soon, I bet.

Stellar job, Mike! Every time I see a mammoth RoundUp like this, I think of all the time and effort that must go into it.

Suicide Squad, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and Morgan are all on my rental queue, for later bargain bin purchase if I dig them.

I've been waiting for the 2002 Nicholas Nickleby on Blu-Ray for years, so if the reviews are good that will be a must purchase for me. One of the "lesser" Dickens novels becomes, in my opinion, one of the better Dickens adaptations. Great casting, and a screenplay that hits all of the most important plot points and emotional beats while condensing 952 pages into 132 minutes of screentime that move briskly but never feel rushed.

EDIT: Screw it; I saw it was limited to 3000 copies so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Even if it's a flawed release, it's still almost certainly going to be the best presentation the film has ever had on home video. And if I'd waited and it sold out, I would have really been kicking myself. I do always get price shock when picking up a Twilight Time release, though, since they're so much more than big studio releases. And then I have to remind myself that they're serving a niche market with a much smaller sales volume to spread their profit margin across. It's better to get these titles at $30 a pop then not have them be made available at all.

Always sticker shock to me too (probably to any RoundUpper who likes to get low prices on their media!).

But, like you, Adam, it's hard to feel bad when you figure it'll keep good titles comin'!

That's why I wait until the Star Wars and Independence Day-type blu's are $10 or less, so I can shift the balance to other boutique labels. I also need to order Nicholas Nickleby. I have no doubt it's a fine presentation. TT is not afraid to skip a title if the available transfer is horrible.

Amazon dropped the pricing of Hell or High Water and War Dogs to $13.99 to match Target, but without the additional discount of %10. The same with a few other titles.

I saw the price drop on Hell or High Water and placed an order. It's not worth the extra 10% to battle the holiday crowds and slippery roads to drive to the nearest Target (we do not have one close to our house).

I might pick up The BFG on a recommendation from a friend. Otherwise, I have some LaLaLand CD's coming...and a lot more Christmas shopping to do.

Thanks Mike!
