Sony announces EXTRA BASS wireless speaker lineup

Sony has announced its new EXTRA BASS wireless speaker lineup, comprising the models SRS-XB43 ($249.99), SRS-XB33 ($149.99) and SRS-XB23 ($99.99). The company says the speakers deliver “superb audio quality, durability and usability” and can achieve up to 24 hours of battery life.

“Customers expect best-in-class sound when they purchase any Sony audio product, and these new wireless speakers are no exception,” said Mike Fasulo, president and chief operating officer, Sony Electronics North America. “This new lineup offers peak performance by creating clear, full sound with new colors and a compact, stylish design.”

The onboard EXTRA BASS technology promises to deliver punchy bass and the speaker layout includes side passive radiators, while an X-Balanced Speaker Unit feature is a newly developed sound pressure function designed to put out a “richer and deeper” soundscape. The non-circular shape of the speakers maximizes the speaker diaphragm area, increasing sound pressure for punchier bass.

A LIVE SOUND mode on the XB43 and XB33 is a feature designed to replicate a live music venue. All speakers are water-resistant, dustproof and rustproof with an IP67 rating for using on the beach and in other outdoor environments, and a shockproof design on the XB33 and XB23 prevents damage from knocks and bumps. The XB speaker line is available in a variety of colors and the XB43 and XB33 include syncing and mood lights for parties and events.

All three speakers are available for pre-order now and you can find out more details of specifications at each of these Sony site links: XB43, XB33 and XB23.
