KEF has today announced the upcoming launch of the LSX II Wireless HiFi System ($1,400, available June 23) which the company says is “more than an upgrade” of the original. The new speaker pairs include the W2 wireless platform from the LS50 Wireless II and LS60 Wireless. Connectivity has been further enhanced over former models with HDMI and USB-C, supporting both TV and desktop computer setups.
The “high-fidelity” speakers sport striking looks, care of industrial designer Michael Young, and are available in five finishes. The recognizable Uni-Q driver array puts the tweeter at the acoustic center of the woofer, which KEF claims eliminates the “tiny sweet spot”, enabling more accurate sound. Housing amplifiers with 200 Watts of power, both the tweeter and woofer are powered independently.
