Klipsch introduces ProMedia Heritage 2.1 speaker system

Klipsch has announced the arrival of the ProMedia Heritage 2.1 multimedia speaker system, priced at $349 ($239 Costco member price). The system is targeted for home office, workstation, or gaming station use. With the characteristic mid-century-cool look of the Heritage Wireless series, the new 2.1 speaker system “blends the acoustics and classic design legacy of founder Paul W. Klipsch” with the latest state-of-the-art tech.

Klipsch says that the ProMedia Heritage 2.1 uses proprietary acoustic technology and a “performance-first” engineering philosophy. The company’s engineers are responsible for picking out and tuning components to match perfectly, claiming to make the system sound immersive and complete. The speakers carry three-inch long-throw woofers and one-inch soft dome tweeters on Tractrix horns, the latter being a proprietary technology representing the core of the Klipsch acoustics philosophy. The accompanying eight-inch sub with 100W amplifier includes a rear-firing tube port for better impact and bass immersion.

Klipsch emphasizes easy set up and operation, and the ProMedia system incorporates individual, ultra-low noise amplifiers to maximize performance and forego the need for external power. Bluetooth capability allows for wireless streaming from an enabled computer, smart phone or tablet. Accessories in the box include an RCA to 3.5mm auxiliary cable for plug-and-play use, and a wireless remote for input selection, volume, subwoofer and sound mode control.

Paul W. Klipsch’s (PWK) original 1946 Klipschorn loudspeaker is echoed in the ProMedia Heritage 2.1 and promises to deliver “amazing acoustic performance.” The system comes in two real wood finishes, black ash or walnut (both pictured). For more information and detailed specs, visit Klipsch.
