Random Audio Dropouts with Kenwood HTB-504. (1 Viewer)

Has anyone else experienced random audio dropouts with their Kenwood HTB-504? This does happen randomly, but has started to become slightly annoying (especially when it happens during the climax of a great musical performance). Is there something wrong with the receiver or speakers or what? I'm currently using the speaker wire that came with the system (yeah, I know the wire is crap) but I plan on upgrading to 12g speaker wire this weekend. Should that fix the problem?

Matt- Just installed some 12 gauge speaker wire earlier this morning and pretty much figured that out already. So it's the receiver. Would exchanging for a different unit perhaps fix the problem?
I'm amazed at how much better the system sounds with the 12g wire!!
