You might have a point about the Shue and Gershon casting, but I give them credit for casting against type. IMO, Shue did pretty good in the role of the femme fatale. Thanks for the review as I have this on pre-order so I can get rid of my 1998 DVD. I'll be watching this movie again during next month's "Noirvember Challenge".

Of course, casting against type can be fabulously successful. I think of Mary Tyler Moore in Ordinary People, or Tom Berenger and Willem Dafoe in Platoon. It’s been too long since I saw Palmetto to recall if Shue and Gershon did well going against type. They might just not be quite skilled enough to pull it off.

I remember liking this and owned this on DVD. While I would prefer a 4k I doubt that is coming anytime soon so I'm ordering this - sounds like it will look great.

I have always enjoyed this fkick. I think LIZZIE did a gret job as the bad girl. I have often wondered why this neo noir fick didn't do better, but maybe by that time more movies had gotten to the spectacular shootem ups and it got ignored out shown by some blockbuster aimmed at the kiddos.
