Let's here it for Jose Theodore. He won the Vezina trophy for top goaltender and the Hart trophy for MVP. This kid is for real folks. Andre Savard must do everything in his power to sign Jose to a long term and lucrative contract.

Jarome Iginla won the Pearson, Art Ross and Rocket Richard Trophy.
Niklas Lidstrom won the Norris trophy for best Defenceman.
Ron Francis won the Lady Byng and King Clancy awards.
Michael Peca won the Selke award
Patrick Roy won the Jennings trophy.
Danny Heatley won the Calder trophy and
Bob Francis won the Jack Adams trophy for best coach.

That's a great accomplishment for such a young player. Both votes were very close -- Theodore tied with Iginla for the Hart and with Roy for the Vezina, but had more first place votes in each case (which is the tie breaker).

He is a great goaltender. It will be interesting to watch him develop over the next few years. The position is tough enough, but to be the goalie for the Habs (or even Wings) is worse. Fans are knowledgeable and can be very harsh at times. If his skin is thick enough and his head is screwed on straight he has all the tools to flourish for years to come.

Now if he would just ask to be traded to the Wings! Just kidding Richard, don't have a cow!

Hes a great, up and coming goalie! Hey what a year for Lidstrom, Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe, and Norris!! Wow! Ya think maybe he'll get some some recognition now?

Tell Ilitch to keep his overspending hands off the Habs goalie! Right now, Jose is the best hope we Habs fans have for the future. Hopefully, Montreal will still be able to afford him after all these awards.
Dennis, not only is it tough to be a goalie in Montreal because of the knowledgable fans, but the Canadiens' lousy defense doesn't make things any easier.

I don't see the Wings going after him. The looming lockout/strike is going to make this year's free agency interesting to watch. I think teams are going to resist long term contracts.
