Sorry to provide a sour note here, but for a critique that claimed to be "merely a DVD review" hoping to steer clear of the controversy surrounding the film, your three-paragraph "synopsis" certainly bought into the viewpoint about Jesus (that he was clearly the Son of God, and was killed by "the Jews" because they hated him "teaching the truth" and "doing good") espoused by Mel Gibson and his fundamentalist cheerleaders and questioned by many of the film's detractors. As such, it seems to me that you departed from providing a review of the DVD and turned it into an endorsement of Gibson's theology -- something which, as you and others have pointed out, really belongs somewhere other than in this forum.
