Sounds nice, but I really need to see the specs before I get excited about these releases. The Ransom special edition reportedly recycled an old LaserDisc transfer and the DVD was non-anamorphic. I hope they do a better job with these Special Edition releases.

I'm buying both of them.
Two great movies to buy on my b-day.

Especially GMV was only LTBX..now it will be 16x9!!

I hope Dead Poets Society is the extended cut, otherwise I'm sticking to the extended-edition widescreen laserdisc.

WHY no DTS track for the Jumanji Deluxe Edition?

I'm torn between the R2 Superbit and this new release...

It's not exactly a film that calls for insightful production material. I just care about presentation!

I wonder how the transfer will stand up the the Superbit and whether the 5.1 track will be any good?

Why no DTS though?!?

I've not seen the longer cut of DPS, but I would like to. Both of these films will probably be must buys for me...IF they are anamorphic. No anamorphic = no sale, regardless of how much I love the movies.

Have the anamorphic version from R4, but would do this again if the extended cut is offered.

I looked this up on IMDB.com and the only thing mentioned about an "alternate version" was that there was 14 minutes of footage added to the TV version.

Does any know what these 14 minutes consists of?

Thanks.

one scene i recall is knox having dinner at the danforth's and he meets ginny danforth(lara flynn boyle, whose scenes were cut). which is why chris later mentions ginny danforth will be at the party he goes to.

i think there's a couple extra classroom scenes also. been a long time since i saw it.
