This coming week, LG will roll out a feature update enabling 2020 and 2021 4K and 8K UHD Smart TV users to view movies and shows on Prime Video in Filmmaker Mode. Created by the UHD Alliance, a consortium of manufacturers and film studios, Filmmaker Mode is designed to preserve “the visual intent of the content creator, bringing the home viewing experience as close as possible to that of an actual theatrical release.”
LG and Amazon have worked together to allow Prime Video content to be embedded with a signal to automatically trigger Filmmaker Mode on 4K and 8K UHD LG TV models running webOS 5.0 and 6.0.
