I previously considered getting one to involve my 13-yo in some educational tech projects and hobbies (and maybe also inspire and help teach her some coding along the way). But it didn't pass the WAF, haha... Well, I'm still not that convinced about its value to me (for now) anyway, so wasn't prepared to burn some brownie points to lobby for it... Better to save them for other more "pressing" things like photog GAS (although I suppose 3D printing could very loosely be rationalized to squeeze into that too I suppose)...

BTW, have you gone to some Maker Faire events? 3D printing has definitely been a very big thing in that world...

I suppose I might want to 3D print some DIY robotics parts if/when I ever get into that. I'm aware some have been doing just that for the Misty 2 robot (that I also previously considered getting into as part of their dev community promotion phase) for instance...

This is right out the box using a presupplied sliced model on the SD card. Neither of my previous printers were this clean right out the box. Only change is I pulled the s distance from 20 to 15.

The 6 Max is a beeeeeast!

Bump. Finally figured out why my Crealities were putting lines in randomly: the extruder shipped loose on its stepper motor. Derp. I figured that out literally 2 minutes after ordering two new aluminum extruders at the advice of other users. Oh well, they will be a nice upgrade.

Those will be added mid week. In meantime i have covered the 6SE to a Wham Bam textured plate and will buy one for the 6Max when it launches later this week. I'm now slicing for all 3 of my printers on Prusa slicer.

this guy never held well for me on the mini. He stuck like glue on the wham Bam

I think I'm done with resin printing. Will probably put the Mars Pro up for sale as a mega pack on Facebook Marketplace.

Just added a cheap Neewer LED light to the mix. Actually bought a kit so will be able to balance the harshness out a bit. Went from. 25000 ISO with just the basement lights to 1600 ISO with the room lights off. More experiments to come!
