Captain America is a super soldier who's been physically enhanced by an experimental serum. Batman is a mere mortal, but then there's that cape. However, without it, he'd simply go splat on the ground if he jumped with no chute.
We'll have to see how this shakes out in the end, but IMO there is NO WAY that WB can remove Miller from the film. They either have to change the film entirely by doing extensive reshoots and re-editing or as Malcolm pointed out touch nearly every frame in the film to digitally replace his face...
From what I've read MIller is in practically every scene of the film. Even if they recut the movie to reduce his screen time, I'd think that both technically and financially it would be very difficult to do what you suggest.

Actually, isn't this mess being caused in its entirety by a lead actor that appears to be very mentally unstable and is in serious need of professional help? I don't think previous WB management had much control over Ezra Miller's mental health issues, which appear to worsen with each passing day.
