update: J&R is overnighting my new 595 free of charge. :) (kinda). i'm paranoid. it'll be on the doorstep in the AM.

after a few days with my 2nd Onkyo (the first 595 arrived DOA), i'm about to have to send it back to J&R AGAIN!! today i tried to listen to a new cd thru the headphone jack and, as it turns out, the jack is patrially in mono or something. when i plug my Sennheiser HD-580s in, i hear great sound...
