My advice is if you want to do movie meetups, sign up (and pay for) a meetup.com group to do just that.

I've been to Dave's theater and the Alamo in the same day. I would pick Dave's over Alamo every time. But I totally get why he says what he says. I think I have (had, anyway, pre-pandemic) better luck doing group movie nights because I had a wide net of casual acquiantances from work and...

For the record that unit has the same deficiency as the 2020 Denons. There is only one 8K or 4K 120hz input as shown in the specs. It doesn't say how many 8k outputs there are but I assume it's the same as the Denons and only has 2.

I know I'd love that. I bought the REW and mic combo and immediately declared bankruptcy on it because it was nowhere near as intuitive as Auddessey. We have a guest lined up for the 8th, will PM you to discuss availability for the 22nd.

competetive gaming is one percent of one percent of gaming. And I noted that team multiplayer does work better with headphones and I keep good headphones nearby for my game play on all systems, including switch. But the question was -most- not most competitive gaming and I posit that most...

48gps doesn’t mean shit until we get 12 bit panels. Anyone who says different doesn’t know what they are talking about or is trying to sell you something.

No. It: Doesn't do 4k 120hz Doesn't do VRR Doesn't do HDMI 2.1 And I suspect that the HDCP handshaking it does do is sketchy. Also, it's a splitter. It takes 1 input and outputs to 4. What we need is a fully HDMI 2.1 / VRR / 4K120 input -selector-. If you have both a PS5 and Xbox Series X...

Same! I really want to explore the amp world but it seems like every time I do something pushes me away from it! And you guys are right, gaming is 100% the driver here. Nothing else in the ecosystem NEEDS these features the way gaming does. But if I was to move to a panel that supports those...

In case you don’t know: VRR and 4k120 are NOT pass through features. If they were there would be no problem using my current receiver.

Nope that’s a non starter and that’s where you guys lose people with these arguments. Most of us have 5/6 players including those of us who have both current gen top end gaming systems that are big into 4k120. Not routing video is a dead end.

He's a gentleman and brought me around to the idea of going separates. =) For those in the know, let's say I wanted to move from my current high end denon receiver to separates capable of of supporting HDMI 2.1, VRR and 4K 120hz on the video side and amplification equal or better to what my...
