There are 59 pages of complaints about Amazon orders that perhaps my recent experiences will fall under. I don't have it in me to scour all of the posts so please forgive me for repeating anything that may have already been discussed.
I will say that this morning was the final straw for me in...
Gotcha. I see it happen often. I love the $10 Warner 4k price drops but it often comes with weeks of delay. Still, in the scheme of things, it's still a great deal and worth waiting for.
Yeah, sadly, easier said than done. You would need a massive boycott and there is no way to pull something like that together.
While I do get occasional shipping delays, I am more concerned about ordering Blu-ray/4k titles that go on sale and it takes several weeks to months for them to ship...
The comments were removed years ago.
This is one decision that I agree was a good idea. Amazon had a huge responsibility on its shoulders to moderate the thousands of comments that were made to reviews on a daily basis. I remember a lot of those comments, and as you would expect, they were...
Yup. Been there. Is it an Amazon direct delivery not through USPS or UPS? If so, I have complained about stuff like this in the past and they have given me a credit on my order.
My Flintstones BD Boxed set came with the box partly crushed because they put it in lightweight envelope packaging.
I sent an angry letter to Amazon support urging them to use boxes to send media products. Didn't help. I continue to receive BDs in thin packaging.
They did replace The...
Exactly, Bryan!
I don't think it's taxation that is the issue. We were not the first State to have to pay Amazon tax but we have been paying for many years now and we had consistently mostly excellent service right up to the pandemic.
Things were a little rough when Amazon started doing their...
I order all my discs from Amazon. I am the kind of guy that will let new titles sit for a week or two before I watch them so I don't get pissed off when they are not received on time.
What I do get pissed off about is when cables I needed yesterday end up coming tomorrow when they were...
I think this is my first time posting in this thread, though I have been monitoring it.
I have become increasingly disgruntled with Amazon, and whether it's justified or not due to the pandemic where some things are out of their control, I took the initiative to send their customer service a...
Just did a little research. It will work with Verizon Digital.
My Mom is still on Verizon standard. It's extra $$ for digital service and I don't think she wants to pay it.
Sounds like you have a great setup for your Mom
It's the phone company. I don't believe they use VoiP. I always thought VoiP needed Internet equipment to route your calls over the Internet not the phone lines.
So you have VoiP. Yeah, you have good options at your disposal.
I have Verizon Fios as my landline. Fortunately, it allows me to go to its website and through my account redirect calls to my cellphone where the spam blocking occurs.
Otherwise, all you get with the landline is a label on the...
Robokiller is a fantastic app. Well worth the yearly fee of, I believe, $15
Have all your landline calls forwarded to your cellphone which in turn will forward it to RoboKiller.
And, yes, if you just let the phone ring and don't ever pick it up, the people that need to reach you will leave a...
I am guessing this is only temporary.
As someone who worked in the Postal Service, directly involved with sorting Amazon parcels, I have a bit of a perspective...
When Amazon was fully vested with USPS, in our office (which was quite large), we would sort over 20 pallets of parcels per day...
It does seem inconsistent but it's not totally Amazon's fault.
They are simply underpromising delivery to cover their asses.
I order a lot of stuff from Amazon. Most everything I order --- no matter when I order it --- gets delegated to a certain single date within 30 days ahead.
Many of the...
Johnny,
I don't think it's in anyone's best interests to intentionally support the failure of a format they helped introduce.
The failure of 3D is nobody's fault other than the consumer who didn't buy into and continue to support its releases.
If the studios were making money on the releases...
Yeah, very true.
I am surprised at some of these studio press releases coming out with dates attached to the product (though there are a lot less of them).
I don't see any discs getting replicated moving forward.
However, from what I have seen, you couldn't get Archive titles on Amazon for a good year or more.
At least, you couldn't get them on release date and they were always delayed for several months.
I'm just happy that the situation seems to be resolved.
Thanks for that.
So, since titles get replicated several weeks/months ahead of the release schedule, we are just about entering the time frame when those titles make it out and moving forward, we aren't going to be seeing much of anything.
Are they essential? That depends on how you look at it.
Compared to medical and sanitary supplies in this time of crisis, no.
However...
Entertainment has been given almost second priority to virus-fighting essentials.
Streaming networks are offering free content. Phone companies are...
Johnny,
Amazon did put out a notice that they would be handling more "essentials" and putting other items on the backburner.
So, if you are seeing more BD titles being sold from 3rd party vendors, that is probably the reason.
I was shocked that Amazon had Warner Archive titles in stock...
Josh,
I just briefly looked at Fresh Direct. Do you use them often? How are their prices?
I take it you tip the delivery guy 20%?
Thanks for all your help
Josh,
Thank You.
Good News: Delivery exists in my area
Bad news: Every delivery time slot is taken for the foreseeable future.
Does not look like this will be an option
