I might rejoin. 5 movies for a buck and free shipping? That's pretty damn good.
I'll definitely get Melody Time and Make Mine Music.
Question...
Is Watcher In The Woods any good?
I am no longer a member but I was reading the following titles are now available…
The Big Green
Man of the House
Tom And Huck
A Kid In King's Arthur's Court
Yeah, it just ran its course with me.
I canceled over a year ago. Then the last remaining exclusives (20,000 Leagues and Black Hole) were released. So I joined again.
However, there are no more exclusives and quite frankly, I am just not buying many titles anymore unless they are digital.
I agree. That's a boilerplate response.
Disney has plenty of data on what will probably sell and what will not. Though, in saying that, I have been quite surprised by some of their choice releases in the past. So, you never know what they will decide to release...
Thanks David. I wait until they it Amazon before I put up the preorders. I haven't done my early morning scan of Amazon yet to see what's new. I'll keep those titles in mind...
So glad I just canceled my Disney Movie Club membership and I am not looking back.
This is the second time I have had to pay for return postage to send back an auto title that I had really thought I canceled.
Twice this happened, and in both cases, I am 99% sure I turned down the title. After...
I find it a hassle to have to decline orders.
I have been a member for three years now. I did receive one unwanted shipment in that time. I don't know how I forgot to decline it in advance, but it did put a marker in the back of my mind that these things can happen.
If Disney is not going to...
Something tells me --- and I don't know shit from shinola --- that Disney may just forego future Blu-ray releases in favor of streaming exclusives for their new channel. This is for their live-action classic fare only.
The only thing that *could* happen is that they release 20,000 Leagues in...
I don't say this too much because of the backlash I get...
Streaming looks pretty damn good on a projected screen so I can see how perfect it would look on a smaller display.
The only thing that tends to be missing is the enhanced audio formats, but then again, it has been a long time since I...
Thomas,
We know there was a new transfer of the original 20,000 leagues done years ago so I do think that this is an opportunity to hopefully see it released to Blu-ray.
However, if Disney wants to make it a streaming exclusive then that may be another route for them.
The Disney exclusives were the only reason for being a club member.
I am actually going to just cancel my subscription. I completed my obligation years ago.
I see a dangerous trend continuing to grow...
A store like Costco completely scaling back their inventory. Disney not releasing any...
PS: I see David Norman's updated reply. Perhaps you can get these exclusive titles if you call it in.
Would like to know, as I may rejoin the club if that can be done.
David,
I believe you cannot get those titles as intros. I think there are only select titles you can order as introductory purchases from the Disney page.
What someone could TRY doing is getting the order number off these exclusives and plugging them into the introductory form. I kind of...
As the original poster of this thread....
Just finished my commitment to the club with the purchase of
101 Dalmatians.
I can tell you that I have had no problems during my climb to
VIP status. I think the value of this club has been immense, and
now, I look very forward to getting the...
You know, I was really surprised to read a few posts from people that actually
had problems with the Disney Movie Club.
I am not discounting those posts. I believe they are truthful. Just......surprised.
It's a great deal that you are getting. It's exactly like the classic Columbia House...
Matthew,
Do not take what I am about to say as being non sympathetic to your cause.
I am very sympathetic. I totally agree and understand.
However...
I think the days of catering catalog releases to the collector is over.
Today's formula of releasing catalog titles is through...
As a member of the Disney Movie Club I have mixed feelings about these
exclusive releases.
I don't particularly mind their exclusivity given the fact they are being made
available for the reason of limited pressings.
Like anything else, if these are the only way that we can get these...
I have to agree with the above.
If you don't specifically cancel after completing your membership agreement, you are
still technically enrolled in the club under their guidelines and procedures.
One of the benefits of staying enrolled is to take advantage of their savings deals.
However, if...
Been in the club for a few short months now.
Very happy with the initial deal I got. Wasn't the best deal, but I was able
to complete all the major classic animation releases I did not have.
I have 4 titles to buy over (I believe) two years. About to order the Thor
sequel in 3D. It will...
Thanks, Tony.
I am not going to try and call Disney Movie club and wrangle a better deal.
I am fine with the deal I have. I don't see me rejoining the club. I am simply
using it just this once to get caught up with several "classics" that I don't currently
own. After that, I am just going...
David,
Wish I read about that coupon deal before I joined, but it's too late.
Ray,
Not worried about giving them my credit card. Chase is very good about crediting unwanted purchases.
Great reading these responses. Thanks.
Thanks for the insight, Charles. I mean, you can't beat 6 Blu-rays for the price of one.
Just wanted to make certain people were happy with the club. You sound very positive.
I have been rather sloppy with not buying all the major
classic animated titles from Disney.
I been holding off joining this club for a good 6 months
now as the Blu-ray of Cinderella was not available, but I
saw they put it back and I went ahead and ordered 6 Blu-ray
titles, mostly Disney...
