Well, the only reason I got it for that price is because I helped my friend sold approximately US$ 4000 worth of hi-fi merchandise such as blank-VHS, blank Hi-8, VCRs, DVD players, LD players, speakers and TVs within the past 2 months.

Mark, Just curious, is US$600 a good price for this unit (it's actually US$515 plus 15% taxes in Canada)? That's how much I paid for it.

Fred, Maybe it's only who doesn't know how to do this, but with my 24TX remote controlling the 500D, all I can do is fast-forward at 2X and not faster than that. That what annoys me. And that's all. Also occassionally I hear clicks from my DVD player. But this is a minor nuisance. BTW...

I don't think Elite line is available in Asian region. One thing for sure though, the 608s and Elite 21s are made in Indonesia.

For this particular case, I'm just re-hasing what the other posters wrote. I never tested it myself using large speakers. The reason being is that I'm using Yorkville YSM-2 near-field studio monitor which classifies as small speakers.
