A buddy of mine from work wants to downsize from a dated 5.1 HTIB setup to a sound bar. He plans to use his current sub with the new setup and wouldn't mind wireless rear sneakers but would forego rears for superior sound. What would you guys recommende?
I have alnost this exact setup except I run Dayton B652s for surrounds with an H/K AVR1700 running everything and it sounds great for movies and music. Might I suggest an H/K AVR1710 with BIC Formula series speakers
the more time i spend with this thing, the more i like it. it absolutely kills my old Onkyo in the SQ department and the vTuner is AWESOME!!! i also really,REALLY like the fact that you can adjust tone/surround mode/etc. for each source individually. i've had 0 problems yet. i did run the ez set...
I know, but it seemed the only way to sell my Infinity TSS 450 speakers and I got $400 cash out of the deal... so, here I am, researching AVRs and I want to try something besides Onkyo this time as my last two AVRs were Onkyos
BIC DV62si and matching center for fronts, Dayton B652s for surrounds, and a Dayton SUB 1000. I just sold my Onkyo TX SR508 and i'm looking for the best overall SQ for music and movies. I know HK "used" to be one of the best for SQ. I can stretch my budget to $300 if needed. What do you guys...
i'm finishing up a home theater install for a friend and need to replace a 10+ year old, dead Klipsch sub. his top dollar is $200. I've been looking hard at the BIC F-12 and Dayton Audio SUB-1200... which of these two would you recommend? any other suggestions in this price range? thanks in...
Well, I was way off... the few people that have auditioned my setup want the receiver with it... so, I'm leaving pretty hard towards HK, although I think the Denon is probably a good choice too... but I really like Yamaha too... I guess we'll see what happens
as a couple of you know, i have recently been on a speaker buying spree. well, i ended up with a pair of BIC DV62si bookshelf speakers, BIC DV62LCR-S center, a pair of Dayton Audio B652's for surrounds, and a Dayton Audio SUB-1000 for the sub stage.well, i finally got around to testing out...
so are you saying you have a free 807 and a 707 now? i keep telling myself that i need to just keep my 508, but i got that new gear bug bad... it seems a bit silly to spend money if i don't need to though.
Well guys, got my Dayton SUB-1000 and my B652s ordered yesterday. I went with the Daytons because of price and the fact that I have a killer pair of SEAS aluminum tweeters to replace the mylar ones that come stock. I tested out the center the other day, AWESOME right out of the box, can't wait...
it used to be that companies like Onkyo, HK, Denon, Marantz, and Yamaha were a cut above Pioneer, Sony, etc. is this still the case? i keep seeing A LOT of Sony and Pioneer units being reviewed in the same league as Onkyo and the like, are they really as good these days? i'm not trying to start...
on second thought, i'll probably just keep my Onkyo... for $75 i can buy back my old TX SR-503 i sold to a budy and sell it with the TSS-450's... the people that have shown interest are not moving to HDMI any time soon, besides, component video and optical digital are more than enough to make...
i'm not sure if i'd use all of the features or not... and i've had great luck with my Onkyo. one of the big things is that i'm tryingto sell my Infinity TSS-450 speaker setup and everyone that is interested is receiverless... it would be much easier to sell a whole package...
