I just bought a 5.0 system. I have it hooked up. I am going to BB today to get an optical cable. How come when I shut down the receiver I cant get sound or picture from my tv? My wife says the system is to loud for her to listen to all the time. Plus dont these receivers get hot to have them on...

Can I leave my existing soundbar and sub connected while I have a 5.1 home theater? I will not listen to the home theater all the time. This way i can still have good sound any other time. thanks.
