Well...sort of. So, the track coming out of my computer has been DAC'ed, then is minijacked out in analog to my v1800. right?
I don't understand your statement: "loss is irrelevant".
hmmm....could you elaborate? I'm confused...I know that DAC stands for digital audio converter....which is my receiver, right?
EDIT: DIGITAL ANALOG CONVERTER..!!!!
Hi Schan,
I discovered that it was the bluetooth connection. I played the same track: computer, minijack to RCA on v1800 and it was no problem.
The track was a mp3 256kpbs - essentially lossless right? =d
Is minijack lossless? I did a comparison by streaming a track from youtube on my...
Schan, I'm going to start a new topic because I just realized we have gone on many tangents!
The new topic is here:

I have a RX-V1800 that I just set up with my new Polk Monitor 70s.
I hear cracking and distorting coming out of the 2nd tweeter from the top on both speakers.
I am testing using the track I've attached. (EDIT: I cannot attach sound files. It's the first mvt from a Mendelssohn Quartet by the...
Thanks for that interesting info. I just set up my Polk 70s with the receiver. I hear cracking and distorting coming out of the 2nd tweeter from the top. I am testing using the track I've attached. (EDIT: I cannot attach sound files. It's the first mvt from a Mendelssohn Quartet by the Guarneri...
Schan, this one also has a pre-out also eh?

Hi Schan - thanks for writing. I looked up some things on 3D. First, I would need a TV that has 3D, right? That is something that I don't see myself doing.
Aside from that, would the V-1800 that that guy is selling be a great buy for me and keep me happy for many years?
Stupid me, I forgot to attach the link to BB.
The guy that is selling V-1800 for 225 - that receiver has pre-outs also. But it only has one rca input for subwoofer - am I correct?

Also, $225 seems...
Well...not exactly yet. I do have a pair of Polk Monitors coming that I will try with this receiver.
I haven't given up on the Klipsch Ultras yet! :) I found this receiver at Best Buy - it would work with my computer speakers right, since it has pre-outs?
Thanks Schan.
So EMI = electromagnetic interference right? I take it that you are saying if I do go this route of keeping these speakers and using RCA to 3.5mm, I will experience loss?
Oh duh. Stupid me. Yes, of course.
Is there a signal lose if I go this route?
[color=rgb(40,40,40);font-family:'Merriweather Sans', sans-serif;background-color:rgb(242,242,242);]An AVR with pre-outs would cost more than buying a [B]
Hi all,
Is there a receiver that could allow me to hook up my Klipsch Promedia Ultras (3 x 3.5mm jacks) to use with my Plasma TV? I would hate to get rid of these speakers. They are 500 watts and the sub is great.
I am currently using a Creative DDTS but there is an annoying hum that I can't...
Hi guys,
Newbie to this forum....just trying to do the same thing as the original poster. I have an old Samsung Analog TV (28 inch) and an older Toshiba laptop that has a VGA and a S-video connection. My ultimate idea is to set up a wireless network where the the laptop can access the files on...
