Comcast never called my g/f like they said they would so I had to wait till Saturday to exchange the box but i've had it up and running since saturday morning with no problems.....hope it stays this way!
I've run sealed boxes in a few different car audio setups i've had but never had a sealed speaker in a HT system ever so i'm interested to see/hear what that would sound like. Do you design boxes? If so, how much would you charge me to design a sealed box to the specs you listed above? I'd be...
Thanks for the explanation, helps me see things a little more clearly now.
What are the pro's/con's of ported vs. sealed sub boxes for HT setups? Will running a sealed sub box give me noticeably less bass output vs. the ported design?
I sure hope that's the case.......my g/f went to xchange the box today but of course, they were out. So....they said they would set one aside for me so I can pick it up anytime tomorrow. I have the day off and will be going to the DMV and then Comcast afterwards and if I have this problem one...
Alright guys, got my new HT setup in my living room last Thursday, set everything up and all is well except for the fact that Comcast gave us the wrong remote for the DCH3416 (I think that was the model #) box so all box controls were being controlled via tv remote. But everything worked until...
I bought an entry level Sony receiver and love it. My mains costed me $65 brand new and they spank the Onkyo's which were listed at over $500 for the package. My sub costed me $122 and it absolutely murders the Onkyo sub.
My point is that just because it's low cost or entry level doesn't mean...
My first and only BR purchase was yesterday (just got a br player this past thursday)
I got:
Heat
Law Abiding Citizen
Street Kings
21
Ghost Rider
We Own The Night
2012
Max specs would be
14w x 15d x as tall as necessary
So do you think the Titanic would not be a good choice? The Epic is only $30 more than the Titanic, do you think that's a bad choice too? I looked at the AV12 and it's the same price as the Epic but what stood out to me is that it's rated at...
I have this same receiver, got it setup and going with no issues at all. I have mine wired up like most others, all Audio and Video run to the receiver via HDMI then a single HDMI going to my TV. Cable is HDMI1 and BluRay is HDMI2...when I want to watch cable I just press HDMI1 and press HDMI2...
Sweet, here they are

Let me know what you think...my other options are to buy either a Dayton MkIII Titanic 12" or an Audiopulse Epic 12"
I got the Sony up and running Thursday night, absolutely love it! Many more features than the Onkyo it replaced, easy to setup and sounds as good as it looks. Very happy with the upgrade!
I bought an Onkyo believing that it was a pretty nice piece of equipment but I was pretty disappointed with the whole setup I got, besides the DVD player. The sub was maxed out on it's amp and sub level output on the receiver and it still had a hard time filling up my living room. I mean, you...
Made a nice little upgrade to my main HT in my living room and moved the old setup to my bedroom. The only things I kept from the old setup are the main and center channel speakers. The cable box is new as well because we didn't have a cable box in our room before since we just had a CRT and had...
I had this same quandary this past week and I decided to go with yourcablestore.com mainly due to the fact that their prices for what I needed (3 HDMI cables) were as good or better than monoprice and their proximity to me....They are about 2hrs away from me so I ordered late tuesday evening...
I am definitely surprised at how much better this thing sounds compared to my Onkyo SKW-204, can't say I thought that's how things would work out but my gf wanted a sub for the room so we bought a super cheap one and couldn't be happier.
I absolutely love Rottweilers but I assure you that i'm not one of those idiots who thinks raising a vicious dog is cool. Matter of fact, I do all I can to ensure that my dog is well behaved and trained. I too agree that those guys out there that raise their dogs to be aggressive and vicious are...
I just bought a new HT setup (see sig) and moved my old setup into my bedroom. The sub I had for the old setup, Onkyo SKW-204, left much to be desired but it fit perfectly in my space challenged living room so I figured I'd leave it there for the time being and just buy a new one for the room. I...
I just got a new HT setup consisting of the following
Vizio 552XVT
Sony STR1000
Vizio VBR110
Motorola DCH3416
BluRay is connected to the receiver via HDMI
TV is connected to the receiver via HDMI
Cable box is connected to the receiver via HDMI
Am I mistaking be thinking that I should get...
My speakers are Insignia NS-B2111. I'm currently running them with the Onkyo receiver in my sig and need to upgrade since that receiver is going in my room. I have it narrowed down to the two listed below, which would be the better choice?
Denon AVR590

Sony STR DN-1000

Whoa, forgot about this thread
I just took the pics, haha. I'm about to upgrade my HT again....I just bought a 55" Vizio XF551VXT and a Vizio VBR-110 from WalMart.com having them shipped to my local store so they should be ready on or around 3.10.10. I already upgraded my main speakers from the...
Well, I hope the Pioneer sounds good, my current setup is a JVC G-70 and while it sounds pretty good, I get a faint humming noise when listening to my headphones at low volume and between songs and notice it without the heaphones too, it's pretty aggravating. Hopefully the Pioneer won't have...
