I'm surprised they didn't address Pete with Peggy's revelation about the baby, but I guess the best is yet to come. I see they wanted to establish the new characters first, as well as create the immediate conflict between Pete and Cosgrove.
If, for some dumb reason, AMC decides to cancel this...
Not to be a jerk or anything...but did Michael Jackson really write the music to his songs? By "music," I mean the musical instruments. I am confident Michael could write the lyrics, but since I never saw him playing a musical instrument, I wonder if someone else wrote the music to his songs...
What's gonna happen is the Golden Globes will become obsolete, because those same films that get nominated for the Globe will get nominated for the Oscar - you know, the musicals and comedies. the Globes break it down, however - Best Picture (musical/comedy) vs Best Picture (drama). Now it...
I read it in Evan Thomas's book "Robert Kennedy: A Life" also in "Seeds of Destruction." (I'd be hard pressed to find that online...but I did read that.)
The best example of believing the Warren Report as gospel is the reaction of Robert Kennedy after he read it. He wasn't all 'up-in-arms' to nail Castro, or Hoffa and the mob, or Hoover, or the ghost of Marilyn for the murder of his brother, no. He resigned himself to "moving on," and do you...
I think you underestimate movie audiences (mature movie audiences). A) you got fans of the book who will want to see the movie - that alone will probably pay for the movie. Then you have the B-factor. The B-factor is people who want to go to the movies to be "moved emotionally." People who...
I'm in the middle of the book now, and although it took awhile to get used to that "writing style," I'm into it now. If this director keeps all of the dark elements from the book in this film, it will be some film, let me tell you! I hope this film gets NC-17, this way I can know for sure all...
It is all about how a film is 'marketed.' If the movie studio decides not to compaign the film for the Oscars, it matters not how good a film is. The film could be fantastic, but if it isn't marketed/campaigned, it will not be nominated.
They did chart, and yes - you did miss them. Free As A Bird peaked at No.6 in 1995, and Real Love reached No.11 in 1996. You might have heard Real Love on TV commercials advertising Anthology 2.
There was an episode in Season One that always bothered me. I don't think the writers had any idea where they wanted this series to go........ Roger Healey stole the lamp with Jeannie inside it - locked inside it! Roger wanted to be her Master. He opened the bottle, and Jeannie had to serve...
It'll be released eventually. Guess after the deaths of Ringo, Paul, Yoko, and all the wives. Of couse, we'll all be dead by then, but at least we'll die with that confidence. ;)
I don't think Walt was dumb enough to think his plan was 100% fool-proof. It was, however, a two-fold deal: one, a quick death for Walt, who otherwise would probably die a very painful death due to lung cancer; two, temporary incarceration for the cousin and his crew
- enough time for the asian...
So far (and I haven't seen the nominations yet for 2008), I'd say these are my Top 5 of the 2000's.... 1: Cast Away - 2000 (starring Tom Hanks and Wilson) 2: Memento - 2000 (starring Guy Pearce and Joey Pants) 3: A History of Violence - 2005 (starring Viggo Mortenson and Ed Harris) 4: The...
Since you mentioned a couple of foreign films, my favorite has been Amores Perros - the dog fights were amazing, and who'd have thought their lovable pooch was such a killer? Not me - I thought, once the dog escaped the house, it was going to be dog food to those other dogs.
Everybody is talking about "best film of the year," but I want to know if it is the "best film of the decade!" You think "The Wrestler" is the best film of 2008? How about, is it the best film of the 2000's? Let's see if we can break down a Top 5 List of the Best films of the 2000's (so...
Everyone compares everything to everything that came before, but you shouldn't look at it that way. Look at it like this: if you like the stories of F. Scott Fitzgerald, then go see Benjamin Button.
I'm just shocked that DiCaprio didn't get the nod - which I believe was due to Richard Jenkins (The Visitor) getting a nomination out of nowhere. I doubt I'm in the minority of people who haven't heard of this film - yet Leo and "Revolutionary Road" was getting praised to high heaven and back...
After six volumes, it appears that Looney Tunes have decided to retire the Golden Collection format.
But surely they haven't decided to retire the art of releasing theatrical cartoon shorts! So what can we expect next year from them?
I'm hoping they'll go for something like The Complete...
We have to be grateful that at least one rock group can still make the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 these days - it is kind of a rarity, as rap and dance are really still the rage. Thank you, All-American Rejects for representing the "minority" who don't care for rap and dance. Honorable mention...
Can't be any worse than only Kim Basinger getting nominated out of the ensemble cast of L.A. Confidential.* Or Memento only getting a screenplay nomination.* (*Oscars, not Golden Globes)
Will Smith is filling me with extreme confidence in regards to the movie-going experience. He has been putting out thought-insightful performances – real dramatic acting, and he is pitch-perfect! This new movie seems to be no exception…….here are two comments about the movie from IMDB: *I...
The TV movies have no place in this set, as this is the complete series, which means Seasons 1 thru 5. Whatever followed, whether good or bad, are not part of the "series," and are thankfully omitted from this set. This is something I want so bad (Santa, you listenin'?), and purposely held...
Why is that? Why when a record company decides to put out a greatest-hits collection of one of their artists, they don't release ALL the hits? When Bruce Springsteen's "Greatest Hits" came out in 1995, they left off Top 10 hits like I'm Goin' Down and Cover Me. What kind of practice is...
