I currently have a dvd player connected via coax digital audio to a Yamaha Amplifier. Some of the films are loud and most are low (tried different dvd players also) . Is there an amplifier to increase the input to the amplifier to increase the input in the coax of the amp? thanks in advance

AScends are here . The result is more clear music and less bass. However both the wharfs and the ascends need more power but are good at normal listening .

Well obviously I don't leave the volume cranked up for long periods. I value my ears. Hearing is okay till now :). I will soon be receiving the ascends 340 and maybe all I need is more sensitive speakers. What measuring instrument can I buy to measure speaker db - an spl meter?

Being in a small room 12x10ft I feel the wharfedales to be in need of more power. Perhaps a power amp would do a difference?

They are not that bad but seem to lack detail and crispiness (certian highs seem missing). Having heard the very good reviews about ascends I was intriged and decided to give them a shot. But I don,t think that they are in the same league as the ascends, or not?

Hi I currently own a diamond 9.5 series with diamond center and surrounds and sub and a yamaha rx-n600 amp. I'm happy with the system but the center seems a bit muddy and voices are not that easy listenable. I have adjusted db level and center equalizer setings but still I'm not that saatisfied...

I have toed in the speakers to look more to the centre of the room and the vocals seem to have improved. Does it make that difference? Does the wall decrease sound (speakers being exactly in the corner and positioned almost parallel to the wall) ?

Well after having the diamond 9.5 and testing various music and films - my verdict - good sound and surround . However they give the impression that the music isn't that aggressive even at hgigh volumes . Even after proper amp settings. Its still good but not excellent - I have a pair of pioneer...

I just ran a lilo and stitch dvd which the amp recognizes as dts and still no sound from the rear :). The speaker does work since in 6 channel sterio and test tones it does!

Found the 5 channel equalizer for the centre and adjusted a bit . Another question is - I have a rear speaker but never works during films . If set in 6channel sterio it works. Any suggestions -the system is RXN600 Yamaha?

That is what I have already done - the centre is 3db more thna the towers. However being a new system I am giving it time and in the meanwhile am reading carefully the manual. However maybe its me or the system but the towers seem to be increasing vocal volume and clarity. On the Wharfdale site...
