Ryan, I have a pair of Ascend 170s and I'm in the 618 area code but I think it would be quite a drive from you since I live just outside of St Louis. How far are you from St Louis?
This is a great receiver with a fully digital amplifier. This receiver is thought to be the best sounding of the Panasonic digital amplified receivers. I have the original box, manual, and remote. The receiver is in great condition and has only been used for a few months. $135 + shipping...
I have one in a very open 14' x 28' x 8' room. It works very well for me since it is directly behind my couch. It shakes the couch very nicely and has a really tight and clean sound to it. Consider buying one or two of them ...
If you are really looking for +/-4 then you should hire someone to acoustically treat your room for you. It's going to be almost impossible to get that nice of a response without some good treatments. http://www.realtraps.com./rfz.htm
It's hard to tell from your pic, but it looks like you need to pull your sub out away from that corner by about 6-12 inches. That will help smooth out the bass response a little bit. It looks like you would be a good candidate for some room treatments.
Like I said, I sit about 2-3 feet away from it in a small room. My SPL meter was moving from 115-120 I'm not sure what frequency was playing and whether or not that value needs to be corrected.
I've experienced the pant leg flapping too. It wasn't an accident, I wanted to see what it felt like. I put in the blue man group audio disc and went to the last track. A little bit after the 2 minute mark there is a really deep and long bass note. I turned my volume up until the RS meter read...
It was on sale and I was trying to decide whether or not I was going to get one. About a month after the sale was over I bought mine at regular price. Then about 2 weeks later it went on sale again and I called and got a price adjustment.
Thanks for the advice guys. I set it to 2 channel out and told it to load 2 ch SACD. SACDs sound great. I have a few DVD-As and as long as they have a 2.0 track it sounds fine. If they only have a 5.1 track is chops the center and surrounds and sounds really goofy. For some reason I can't...
I just bought a new 563a for its music playing abilities (SACD & DVD-A). My setup is a 2.1 no center and no surrounds and I'm running bookshelf fronts. When I hook up the player with the 6 channel outs and tell the player that I don't have a center or surrounds there is no LFE output to the...
It's not my listing but I did talk to this guy once and he claims to have a source to get new in box XR10s. http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls....cvr&1111990162
Back last summer I was wasting some time in my local Circuit City and they had some decent CDs in the CD player in the room with all of the tower speakers. I listened to all of them and my favorite were the Infinity Beta 50s. Those were also the most expensive pair that they had :D
