    Projector placement

Neil, how did you attatch you bracket to the ceiling? I have drywall with rafters in a lower level room. I have a sony vplhs20 and am thinking of using 2 lag bolts for the front of the bracket but that leaves the 3rd hole with just drywall.

    screen and HT setup

Check your DVD player also. I just found that mine has a 4:3 and 16:9 setting which made a difference also. I think I'm coming down to the point of finding a distance that is close to all screen sizes I'm thinking of and putting up the projector that way.

    screen and HT setup

I have a Diy project and am at the point of setting up my Sony vplhs20 projector and making my own screen. I've been reading several posts on screen size, aspect ratios, formats, etc and have made several calculations to figure out screen size and projector distances. Frankly, this is giving me...

Paradigm with sub or Axiom without?

I'd get the best now. You can always add more Axiom units later. Much depends on the size of the room. You could start with m50's for $620 and v100 center for $220 for a total of $840. Any current speakers you could temp use for surrounds. As money makes it possible in the future, get a pair of...

Newbie going with Axiom speakers, need speaker/receiver help

I'm also thinking of getting axiom's but from what I read on their website, isn't the m80's too much for your size room? That's 234 sq.ft. By the HT wizard they have, they suggest the m50's for 250 sq.ft or less. For the extra punch I suppose the m60's would be ok. The m50's sell for $620 while...

    Gatorboard

I'm thinking of buying gatorboard for my screen. I've noticed the specs say no more than 165 degrees continuous. I'm using a Sony vplhs20 projector. There shouldn't be a screen temp anywhere near 165, correct? On a separate matter, I was thinking of placing my sub out by the seating area or...

    HT project decisions, decisions....

I am just about to finalize my HT project. I have been agonizing over many different decisions concerning audio, video, lighting, you name it. Went to the two primary HT vendors in town, (GV) and (PA),as they will be known. Very interesting differences. Room Description: 19' x 12'; med blue...
