    headphones

If you are focused on just using the headphones for movies. I would look at one of the dolby headphone units. Dolby headphone is a seperate format (such as DTS or dolby 5.1 is) which is designed specificly to be played in 2 channel headphones. Sometimes when listening to DTS or dolby 5.1 it can...

    headphones

Grados (yes its GRADO not GRATO) are a more forward can with a signature up front sound. Known as excellent rock headphones. They are usually known as having not the greatest soundstage... they also are not known as being very comfortable. I wouldnt reccomend those. There are however many...

    Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones

I didnt disagree with you mike. I am not sure that the bose are one of the best (if not the best) at isolation (of course aside from etys/in ear cans) because I have not directly compared the isolation abilities of multiple headphones. From the reviews ive read I remember people praising their...

    Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones

Hmm.. Not sure how many times ill have to repeat this until it gets into the slower-witted heads. Even if your only concern is Comfort and Isolating noise, there are many better options. You can learn this at headfi, im not going to hold your hand and search out the many many posts there...

    Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones

Even if your ONLY concerns are comfort and noise cancelation, there are other, cheaper/better options than the bose headphones. Thats why I said to "go get knowligified at headfi". Do a search for bose and read what people have already said. The general consensus is that they suck hard and are...

    Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones

Yeah i forgot to mention ety's. Ety's are widely known as the absolute best in noise-canceling/sealed headphones. I personally do not like in-ear canal type stuff, but many do. A lot of people report that the ety's dont fit correctly in their ear. You really have to get a good seal for the sound...

    Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones

Mikeli, I do not rely on what others say.. I rely by my ears. I have high expectations and will not accept subpar items. I have listened to the quietcomfort bose (noise canceling) cans and found to be muddy, weak, sloppy bass, rolled off highs, with decent midrange. The price/performance...

Why do mfg make 4 ohm speakers

Hmm, no i think you have it backwards. A more kinked hose would cause more resistance. The lower the ohms, the higher the resistance. Hence more power is needed to "push through" the resistance (the kink)(the ohms). Hence the output (psi?) is higher.

Why do mfg make 4 ohm speakers

With headphones (my specialty) resistance will vary anywhere from 8 ohms to 1000 ohms. It really has to do with the design goals and what the driver is intented to do and work with. Some speakers are designed to be placed with lower end components... while others are designed to be placed with...

Looking to build a system::: $1000+/- for mains

Thanks for the reply steve. Knowing that the rockets are warmer than the swans settles that. Rockets over swans for me. Regarding your statement on amplification: It really depends upon what level of sound reproduction you are at. The higher end the system, the more each component...

Looking to build a system::: $1000+/- for mains

I dont really want to do anything DIY at this point. I am looking closely at the SWAN Diva 6.1's. The Rocket 750's: or onix reference 2 B-stock (towers). My main concern, that i should have mentioned previously, is listening fatugue. I built my whole headphone system around the idea that...

Looking to build a system::: $1000+/- for mains

Where is the best place to get the ACI speakers or the Axiom speakers? Those swans look really nice! Im all about these "internet-direct" companies.. They seem to rule the bang/buck ratio. Thanks for the replies both of you! This is exactly what im looking for.

Looking to build a system::: $1000+/- for mains

Hello everyone. I am looking to build a nice home theater system for my bedroom. My current TV is only a 24inch sony flat screen (bought new about 2 years ago). But I plan to later upgrade to a 30inch(give or take) widescreen for the bedroom. My main home theater im not even going to begin...
