The room is an open floor plan with 10' ceiling, seating is roughly 10' from the television. The area directly in front of the speakers about 300 sqft, taking into consideration the full width of the room.
Comparing features (from accessories4less), number of channels not being considered, these three seem to have most if not everything I would need: Marantz NR1402, Denon AVR-1712 and Onkyo TX-SR608. These range from 50w to 100w per channel, would this make that big of a difference with my E30's...
My old Panasonic SA XR 25 just died and I need a replacement. I'm looking to spend no more than $300 and I will consider refurbished. For my equipment I have 3.1 system with JBL E30's, N center and a dayton 12" sub, 60" Sharp Aquos LCD, HD DVR, Blu ray player and a Wii.
What should I look for...
My current setup is 2 JBL E30's and a Dayton sub. I want to add a center channel, preferably an EC25 or EC35 but I'm not having much luck finding either. Is there another JBL center channel that will match the E30's?
I went back to take another look at it this morning and the price had dropped to $700. They offered me the 4 year service contract for $130, so I bought it. They also gave me the Samsung DVD player connected to it. SD cable looks pretty good on the set, better than I expected. My son is...
My local Compusa has this set on sale for $799. I've been searching online for reviews on this set but haven't found any. Does anyone here have any experience with this set?
The basics that I need are progressive scan and S video (component for future TV upgrade). HDMI isn't a necessity right now, my receiver doesn't have the inputs. I want something that won't need to be replaced when I finally make the jump to widescreen/HD.
Thanks for all of the replies. Chu and Dick, you could be right. The sub does fire downward and when I have it placed in it's normal location on the carpet there is a wall directly behind it. When the sub was on the kitchen floor, the nearest wall was at least three feet away. I hadn't...
My sub is one of the original 12" Dayton's. Since I got it, it's been sitting on the carpet a couple of feet from my tv. It sounds pretty good but sometimes it does sound a little sloppy. So earlier this evening I was playing around with some scenes from ROTK. I would play the scenes with the...
I just watched The Incredibles with this sub. It did a good job of getting me several "that's way too much" looks from my wife. ;) How much break in does a sub typically need? Over the past month I've put several hours (6-8) into watching the LOTR series and it is beginning to sound better.
The finish is very similar to my JBL E30's. But with a little more of a wood grain appearance. This is my first subwoofer and for $150 I'm impressed with the results. I'm the LOTR series movies to try and find the best sub/reciever settings.
What I'm going to do is get one of the Dayton 12" subs to see how it works in my living room. The picture of the amp doesn't show an LFE port so I'll use the L R RCA ports.
