I have a DIY center that I built that weighs in at @ 40lbs. (It's an Audax design). I had to build a short shelf that goes across the entire top of my Mits 42313. it needed to be supported in the center to keep from bowing badly.

If you get one of the available Dish Network HD receivers, you will not need an additional box to view HD channels. However, if you want to view off-air HD channels, you will need a HD tuner, either intergral to the satellite receiver, or TV top style.
