Afford is a _very_ relative term I'm afraid...I have more cash but don't want to spend it. I guess I could save cash a while longer and wait for my birthday or the rumoured replacment of T752. I'll have to say what my parents say as well I guess...
Do you all think it's possible driving fronts (91dB/1W/1m), a center (90dB/1W/1m) and surrounds (88dB/1W/1m) on a Nad T742? They're all rated 4 ohm speakers. Or do I need the T752 (don't have the money really)? This will be my only system so both HT and music will be played.
I won't go pre/pro and separetes because I'll have to start saving for a computer now, otherwise I'd do it ofcourse, I am looking for good sound. The pricedifference is neglictable at least here in sweden. I can either buy a Marantz 6200, a H/K 3550 or a NAD 742 within $30 us. Problem is I...
Problem is that I don't have the cash, that's why I'm going for H/K or NAD, don't seem to have entireley made up my mind. Both these should be able to give my 4 ohm speakers the power they need without help. Also, from what I hear there's nothing wrong with the sound coming out of the recievers...
Thanks for strengthening my belives in the NAD! This is really difficult and you think you've decided what to buy like once a day..I think it's different this time though. This forum is really a great HT resource, I want to thank everyone here! I would've never even considered NAD without you...
I can't find a Rotle at all in my price range. Anyway, I looked at a NAD T742 (on the internet, I've no one to demo it for me around here) and it looks great. All positive user comments and true power! I think this'll be my first AV Reciever!
Thanks a lot for your help Ferran and Pablo! I don't want a yamaha reciever because I feel H/K and Marantz are simply put, better. I've actually started thinking about H/K because I don't really need 6.1 (won't get the extra center speaker) and they seem more powerful than most other brands...
I live in Sweden and the prices are very different here, and not to our advantage :frowning: Anyway, what I really need to know is if Marantz can handle 4 ohm speakers and whether to buy 5200 or 6200.
Thanks for your reply! Can't buy the x300 series cause it's really overpriced here, 5300 costs a lot more than 6200. The 7200 is also to expensive. The choice is between 5200 and 6200 if they can handle my 4 ohm speakers well. Otherwise I'll have to look at some other brand I guess.
I'm going to buy a Marantz reciever and couple it with Audio Pro Black Diamonds, Audio Pro Black Vector, Audio Pro Image 11 and an audio pro sub (active). I've been looking at SR 5200 and SR 6200, and I wonder, do I need the extra power of the SR 6200? Otherwise the features are very much...
I'm the kind of person who goes all the way with this sort of thing. I seriously don't think I'll buy more equipment then this for several years and I want decent sound during thoose years. The speakers I'm about to buy are pretty nice stuff (I like them a _lot_) and they are worth much more...
First of all, thanks for all the replys, they're making my life a lot easier! Will a Marantz 5200 have enough power for the Diamonds? Could buy a 6200 but it's about a $100 us more expenisve. Nad 742 costs more than the 6200 and I need to save as much cash as possible, want a new HD.
I've contacted a guy who's selling his audio pro black diamonds, with a woofer and front in the same series and surround speakers of another series by audio pro (image 11) total price $750 us. That seems like a really good deal to me. Problem is that I can't audition many recievers where I live...
This is my first post here, after having looked around some for a few days. I've just gotten interested in HT after visiting girlfriends brother, he had some nice speakers and a larege TV, nothing special but it was a completley new thing to watch a movie there. That's the reason I'll have to...
