Many have been picking up the Athena Micra 6 system. It was on sale for around $200 at Best Buy, but looks like the price for black is back to $299. I haven't heard its sub (got one but haven't hooked it up yet) and don't know how it would compare to the logitech, but it might be worth a listen.
Also, what are your room dimensions and where is the sub placed in the room relative to your listening position? Is it a concrete floor in a basement or is it a normal floor that will give you more tactile feeling? Where's ED with his checklist? :) The guys on here are great...
I just ordered some SR-80's which are quite a bit cheaper than what you're looking at -- info can be found here. http://www.gradolabs.com/frameset_main.htm They have some more expensive models that might be to your liking. Or if you do a search on here, there are some other threads...
What a coincidence....... I just got an email from Bill Clinton. Anyway, since he plans on being in the White House again in a few years, he wanted to know if I would be the official intern beta tester. :D :D :D Thankfully, I already have very fulfiling job. :emoji_thumbsup:
Sorry to bring this thread back to life, but saw the post from Texas and wondered if the guy has pursued getting his money back. The site lists the scam artists address and even a code to get in their office building. Some people have had some success getting their money back. There's...
I would say the PB2-ISD would be fine at your listening levels. If you are a 'normal' person it will work fine. If you are an 'insane' upgrade-aholic, like many on here, then no- it won't work skip the ISD and 2+, get two B4+'s. :D Seriously, people on here usually say if you can...
I used the eye hook method when I had youngsters wobbling about. One of them had toppled one of my then tower speakers. I think I eye-hooked the speaker and then eye hooked the entertainment center and connected them with some wire or something. I believe I used a fairly small eye hook and it...
As Steve said, it depends on your room. The TWO TOWERS of ISD's may be hard to dial in, maybe not. In the long run you might have been beter off going with a B4+ package. About the same money as 4 PB2ISD's. Email SVS and see what they think. Good luck!!!
It's one thing to give an objective review of something, be it positive or negative, but posting such nonsense by someone having a online 'vendetta' with SVS is pretty sad.
100db probably won't carry much outside most decently built houses. Now get up to >115db and you'll probably notice something. My neighbors dog barks like a banshee when the bass is thumping. The neighbors next to them have turned in my neighbors dog to the police on multiple occasions...
Hsu to the rescue over at the avs forums. lol Quite the dissertation in the Subwoofer Reommendations? thread by you-know-who dissecting this review. Just thought some of you may enjoy a really "good one"
Excellent review Edward!!!! (not sure when you changed your name to Craig LOL) Extremely detailed, lots of good information and comparisons. Thanks for taking the time to compile and present such an awesome review. Can't wait to see the details on the PB2-Ultra. :)
Brian, I have the 30's front and rear and the C7 center channel. They sound incredible when properly calibrated. You have dropped a good chunk of change on some decent HT equipment. Why not spend another $50 to get the most from your investment? Goto radio shack's website and...
I sat in/looked at some of these at a local furniture retailer. They felt ok comfort-wise, but for a row of 4 I belive the price was $3,300 on sale. Sadly -- out of my budget the wife has allowed me to spend. :frowning: Plus, I need two rows of four also.
No, no Jesse don't listen to SVS. :) What you really, really want is to buy my 2 Pb2+. I'll toodle on over to CO and deliver em to you. Then I can get the PB2 Ultra that I wish I would have purchased instead of the +'s. Do I dislike the PB2+ --- NO! Do I really need a PB2...
Allen, Give SVS an email [email protected] with your questions above. I can answer some, but they'd be your best bet. They are very helpful and usually respond within the day of your request.
Yes, Allen I have 2 PB2+ one on top of the other. You could get one PB2+ and then get another later if you wanted more and it would still be less $ than B4+. I'd say one of the main differences in cylinders and box subs is the cylinders are easier to move around because they don't...
Allen, I debated the same decision regarding 1 PB2+, 2PB2+ or one PB2-Ultra. In general, 2PB2+ stacked, will have about a 4db edge over one PB2-Ultra according to SVS. If you locate one PB2+ front and one back you may have some tricky phase issues to deal with. Now, unless you're...
Waiting!! I have ONE day left to wait until my SVS gets here. LOL BAX seems faster than UPS though!! only 4 days to get here, with two of them being Saturday and Sunday. woot!!!! Hang in there.
I can't wait till my SVS get here this week after reading some of the posts above. The max my current subs are putting out is around 100db at the listening position. Just hope all the snow doesn't slow down the truck!!!
The PCPlus comes in three sizes and uses the TC Sounds 12" driver. The PCUltra comes in one size (39" tall) and uses SVS's higher-end TV-12 high-output 12" driver. The Ultra also has a built in single band parametric EQ.
Thank you for the reply Parker. That is one long thread! I may try out my home-made mount before I order one of those, but they definitely would work in my situation. Thanks again!
Halen if you're worried about the rainbows but still want to try out the X1, get it from someplace like www.CDW.com. They told me I could try it out for 30 days. If I noticed the rainbows I told them I was sending it back and they said "no problem". I figured if I was in the % of people that...
Halen, The only "rainbow" I have seen with my X1 was about a foot in front of the lens. And I only saw it once. I think there was alot of dust in the air or something. I have seen no effect like Tim's link shows above. Neither has any of my 5 family members. I was concerned at first, but...
Hi All! Wish I would have found this forum two weeks ago. I got my DA-LITE Model C high contrast matte-white 52X92 in yesterday and it looks great with the X1. I just wish I would have purchased a bigger screen. I should have placed the projecter in an optimum room position/that produced...
